Doesn't look like it. The award first started in 1993.

Crews is the only player to be named SEC Player of the Year in consecutive years.

Nope. From LSU's press release

quote:

Crews, also voted the 2022 SEC Player of the Year, is only the second player to win the award on two occasions, joining Florida's Matt LaPorta, who was named SEC Player of the Year in 2005 and 2007. Crews is the only player to receive the honor in back-to-back seasons.

Skenes is LSU's first SEC Pitcher of the Year since Aaron Nola won the award in both 2013 and 2014.

LSU is now the only school with both a two-time SEC Player of the Year (Crews) and a two-time SEC Pitcher of the Year (Nola).

I'm thinking Skene's statue at the box should have a plane flying over his head

Why would anyone think that? He was a cadet at the air force academy, that resigned. He didn't fly 30 missions over Berlin or avoid SAMs in North Vietnam.

How many rbi would Tommy White have without Dylan crews on base in front of him literally every single game. Every game. At least once a game Dylan crews was on base in front of him.

No he really didn’t.

Even if you only count offensive production Tanks still didn’t have the same production as Crews but when you factor in defense its an even bigger gap between them.

“Who told you that?”

Literally every poll, national media outlet and college baseball site in the country. SI, Baseball America, The Atlantic, D1 Baseball.com just to name a couple. There were a bunch of threads on this board saying this was the greatest roster ever assembled in college baseball history with little to no pushback.

When you factor in defense Tanks plays a much harder position
