The first step is admitting you have a problem.

If Burrow getting knocked out on a dirty hit against UFC didn’t convince you, I don’t know what will

Here’s the lowdown from the scrimmage.

-More of the same from my post last week. The offense is still going up tempo and wide open. Went 5 wide a few times and kept the tempo going.

-Burrow looked okay and Myles looked okay. Myles did however throw a god awful interception in the red zone in third down. Brady and Ensminger lit him up for it.

-Myles is a bit of a feast or famine at the moment. He turns it over but also has some highlight reel throws too.

-Trey Palmer caught a bomb from Myles for about 60 yards.

-Jamar Chase is that dude right now. Watching him and sting go at it reminds me of Pat and Julio back in the day. He just so damn strong and quick. He’s a stud.

- Clyde is the best back right now. He understands the game and the blocking schemes and how to get yards against college defenses. Emery and Ty still tend to bounce it a bit too much but they’ll learn. Both of them are Uber talented.

- Emery bounced one and took it for about 60 yards and Ty ran the ball really well.

- Racey Mcmath had a great day today but he’s been playing well all camp this coming from the players. He’s been quietly doing very well.

-Sting is the punt returner and jamar has returned kicks. He’s super explosive.

-The d line did a very good job. Lawrence made some really nice plays today.

-About half of the six sacks probably weren’t real but 3 were for sure.

-Kenan Jones came down from his safety spot and played backer in one blitz package and got the sack. He’s another super athletic guy.

-The offensive line had a much better day. They had a lot of guys back and were able to pound the rock a lot more this week. Charles and Deculus looked good.

-Cade York is the real deal. We will see if he can do it in game but he’s got a great leg.

-Overall, the whole team looked better. Defense won some, offense won some. Both sides went at it and it was good to see. The depth can be a little concerning in some spots but hopefully these younger guys develop and are ready by midsession.

-Any other questions I’ll try to answer.

My question is this...

We've had our drop problems last year, in the Spring, and now. WHO is dropping? 6-8 drops in a game is way too many.

Toughness was never questioned. Accuracy and ability to get rid of it quicker were. No question that he will improve a little due to time in the system but these dropped passes can’t be helping. I don’t understand how receivers drop balls so much. You’re there to get open and catch the ball.

This is what I was getting at. Maybe I didn't word it the best way. Today Burrow was 14/24. 58%. Last year his completion percentage was 57%.

Just wanted to know what he thinks will help get Burrow up to around 65-68%.

So would it be safe to say the only contributor on the 2-deep we shouldn’t expect to be available due to injury on opening day is Kardell Thomas?

Will Chasen Hines, Damien Lewis, Ika, etc...be ready?

Thanks.

Yes, Clyde is good but Emery has the tools to be great. We didnt bring Emery in the run up the gut for 2-3 yds. He has the speed to bust any play to the house. I expect him to take about half the season to be fully knowledgeable of the offense. That is what LF said it took him. BTW Emery is faster than Leonard

We should stick to our guns and keep running into those 8 man fronts. Its worked so well this past 10-15 years.

Clyde is an excellent second string back. He can come in and give a different look, a change of pace. I don’t believe we’re playing championship football, at the running back position, with Clyde in there. I’m not saying we can’t win championships with an average SEC back. I’m just saying that with Clyde back there you’ll need stars elsewhere to make up for a ho-hum running back.

Word from some of the Karr coaches is Racey is really showing the LSU staff he's a player that can make a lot of plays, what position is he playing at mostly ?

Do you honestly put CEH on the level of fournette, guice, and hill?

Because that's what emery is supposed to be

Its not saying CEH is not good, because he's a fine RB. he's just not elite
