A distinction without a difference, imo.
There is a difference, a very big difference especially for journalist paid to report the TRUTH, not their assumptions or insinuations. If someone who had never heard of this FBI trial or WW and they read Rabalais article they would think Wade had allegedly given Naz money, but that is not the truth. Wade allegedly had money for him, no where does it say Naz was actually given money. The difference here is one is the truth and the other is a damn lie. And Rabalais wrote a fricking lie.

You add the total package of what these kids get when they come to LSU, I bet it’s close to that. Tuition, books, meals and apartment are just a small part of it. Think of ‘coaching time’ alone...

He's a journalist. Don't expect truth.

This guy is a local journalist? Bringing up this old shite while it’s dying down.
Rabalais is still sucking off the teat of the worst athletic director in D1 history.

Not only that, but it was someone testifying that someone else said that and I may be wrong, but think that someone else may have heard it from a different person. This shite is a whole lot of nothing at all.

So testimony from a third party is the same thing as proof of payment.
Nope, hence the word “alleging” in the article.

Amazing how something bad about your team can’t even be discussed until after a conviction. I’m sure you have the same standards about other schools or players

Yeah, I don’t see the problem.

I can get on board with "everyone does it" and with "there is no outright proof" arguments since I believe both. And I want WW as my coach. But c'mon with the righteousness here. Take off the P&G blinders.

This is just my personal opinion but I felt the exact same way when the same thing happened to Duke when the guy said something like "trust me they have the money" or whatever. Any third hand info is worthless to me. The person on the stand is testifying under oath that someone else told them something. Unless that person is interviewed and produces evidence, what was said in court is useless.

Scott Rabelais can eat a donkey dick. Woodward should throat punch his arse and cut him off from LSU sports.

I hope there aren’t people here that think these players are not getting paid...
Let me just posit the following:
College basketball is a cesspool of corruption involving payment for players to sign with college programs. The AAU supports it and serves as a pipeline for talent.
This is undisputed by anyone that pays close attention to college basketball.
Taking this as fact, why would any highly recruited basketball player come to LSU from out of state without taking any money?
The question therefore is not whether Naz got money. HE might not have. But SOMEONE got money so the questions are: who actually paid the money, how much and who received it?
Successful programs know how this works and have it all figured out. Someone is paying their players but They make it real hard to trace.
The fact that WW was on record even talking about a player getting paid is bush league.

That’s perfectly reasonable but it never the less was “alleged” in court so there is absolutely nothing wrong with Rabalais’ saying so in a column.

"alleged"?
Must be a bad news day. No NCAA baseball, softball, recruiting going on. to write about
The most important news is recycling something alleged in court with no corroboration. Hey why don't they just sit on their fat azzes and recycle the same crap every weekend. Then start again Monday. That is enough to keep the uneducated masses titillated.

Yeah, that's what I don't get. It essentially died down then one of your more recognizable local AP writers throws up a story seemingly out of nowhere. It makes it look like ole Scott has an agenda. He's been getting worse and worse over the years but his is a bad look.

Rab has written a couple of articles about the meetings there and you can bet Wade has been front and center on the topic of recruiting.
