LOL! Dude, you started a thread discussing the outcomes of different games.

What everyone needs to focus on is us winning out.

If we fall to GA in the SEC championship game and Oregon and /or Oklahoma have one loss and are conference champions, there is no guarantee the committee picks us.

We would have a good chance to get in, but no one knows that for sure.

Exactly this for exactly those reasons.

We beat A1abama and cooked their playoff goose well done despite the media narrative to back door them. Time to put them in the rear view mirror until next November. Then rinse and repeat. "Vini. Vidi. Vici."

the committee simply could not allow Bama to make it over both of those teams with no quality wins.

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

When Bama backdoored their way in for the 2nd time in 2017, they were selected over Big X champ Ohio State, which had two losses. I would think that things would be different if there are two conference champs, i.e. Oregon and/or OU, with only one loss each. I'd even put Minnesota in over Bama if they finish 12-1 with their only loss being to undefeated Ohio State. Their SOS and quality wins would be better than Bama's.

The ONLY scenario would involve a season where Bama loses two or more games (unless everyone else does too).

With their scheduling, and their ability to alter SEC schedules (when needed), this won't happen.

Bama knows 11-1, finishing third or better in the SEC gets them in. Period.

There are maybe one or two other teams in all of CFB that play by these rules.

I want Auburn to beat UGA. If we lose to UGA in the SEC CG, then we still go to the CFP over a TWO loss SEC champ Georgia. If Georgia and LSU end up with one loss, the Georgia goes to the CFP and LSU has to argue why they should be picked over a 1 loss non-conference champion.

There will be at least 1 SEC team going to the CFP if undefeated LSU is playing a 2 loss UGA, then LSU is in, regardless of who wins.

Georgia wins out (including SECCG). Not ideal obviously, but UGA and LSU would get in with Bama getting kicked to the curb.

A lot of people assume this but I’m not so sure.

If Clemson and OSU are undefeated there’s 2 spots.
1 loss SEC champ Georgia gets a third.

If both the Big 12 and Pac 12 champs finish white 1 loss one of them will likely get in ahead of LSU. They would have a conference championship and a top 10 win going into the playoff.

LSUs only sure way in is to win the SEC. just beating Bama ain’t enough

In the scenario above, Bama would get LSU's spot.

LSU HAS to win the SECCG to get into the playoff. Period.

You sure are wasting a lot of time on something you can't control.

As I said earlier, if UGA wins the SEC CG with 2 losses, then LSU is in. The committee won't take a 2 loss UGA, and they won't exclude the SEC completely. They would choose between 1 loss LSU and 1 loss Bama. LSU wins that one.

Of course, we have to make sure we beat Ole Miss on Saturday...

No doubt in my mind that a 0 loss power 5 confirm champ will get in over Bama. It is the plethora of 1 loss teams that will fill out the rankings by year's end that will let Bama back into the debate.

I don't think Baylor wins out, and I have my doubts OU win out through the Big12 CG.

Minn. Isn't winning out and PSU isn't winning out and beating OSU.

Pac 12 may have a 0 loss team.

It is very difficult for any team to be undefeated. I just feel so many will have 1 loss, which let's Bama into eqn, unfortunately

so 11-1 Alabama would get in over 12-1 LSU even though we have the head to head? Yeah, no. The committee sucks sometimes, but they aren't complete morons.

It sucks this even has to be a discussion.

If a team gets beat down at home, doesnt have a quality win on a shitty schedule, and doesnt win its conference, it should be out of the playoffs.

As Lee Corso says, not so fast my friend. If we are beaten by 2-loss UGA in Atlanta, we would be put up against not only Bama but potentially 2 one-loss conference champs in Oregon and OU, and possibly the loser of the Big X championship game if they have only one loss, for the eye test. If that happened, we could be out, because the conference championship wins would likely trump our win over Bama.

We need UGA to beat Auburn and then we have to beat UGA.

If LSU lost to georgia in a close one they would not put bama ahead of LSU....LSU has the harder schedule, better wins, etc.

"BAMA is not getting in over ANY 1 loss champion. If Oregon or Utah win out and Baylor or OU win out, 1 of those teams will be left out, but NOT because Bama is in"

You think the committee using the "eye test" would say oregon is better than bama? no...especially if bama whips auburn.
