They need to rein it in, immediately. Give a kid one free transfer. Anything else, you sit out a year.

frick that free. You sit out a year period. And NIL contract that pays you a stipend during the years active and pays out upon four years graduation or at least working towards it. Don’t complete, don’t collect. Insurance policy for injuries.

Look at how well teams with players that aren’t millionaires are doing…. Army, Indiana, SMU, Tulane, etc.

There’s also a huge disparity in the “have” and “have not” positions and that’s going to cause problems going forward. The players who aren’t in commercials and aren’t attracting the same kind of money as the star QB, RB, WR, and DB are going to get jealous. It’s going to cause schisms in the locker room.

No amount of coaching can fix that.

You have to Coach like they do in the NFL, but even NFL coaches have more control. At least the NFL has free agency rules and a pay structure.

Oh FFS! This exact same shite was going on 30 years ago too. Same conversations about the same actions with same opinions.

Nothing has changed, you’ve just gotten old and old people see the past through rose colored glasses. Always have, always will.

This might be the only reason I kind of feel bad for Kelly. This is all true and he is failing at adjusting to it, where Saban saw the writing on the wall and bailed out gracefully.

DeBoer doesn't have 3 losses. He has 2 and is highly likely in the CFP. And Bama has been pretty good as of the last few weeks.

Fair. I guess I counted Vandy as two losses. DeBoer is doing well the last few weeks. He lost to two teams with inferior talent. Every coach in the country struggles to find consistency throughout a season currently. The NIL and portal have changed that and it is not going back.

Nobody is struggling more than Oklahoma, USC and LSU right now. Those three hires have been failures after three years. At least LSU and USC have not given their coaches raises during their debacles.

I mean what do you want Kelly to do when Lacy is pumping up the away crowd all game acting like a jackass sitting there with 0 catches…our culture issue is as much of the type of players we have on our team vs what Kelly is capable of controlling.

Oh, bullshite. Give me a specific example of a player coming off the field screaming in the head coach’s face 30 or more years ago with ZERO repercussions.

It’s def a thing. They think since the checks are coming in. “They’ve Arrived”. Human nature for kids that age. No more motivation for most of them. They’re famous and rich.

Deboer took over a team loaded with Saban players. They have 2 loses and were fortunate to beat South Carolina, so slow your roll.

This is spot on.

LSU was up 17-7 at half at A&M, and since then they’ve imploded.

Very similar in some ways to NFL. Highly paid players carry more clout than coaches.

The only thing I don't like about NIL is the transfer. Making players sit a year will help.
