Hate getting stuck with those weirdo queers from college station. I'd much rather keep Florida on the schedule.

He also had UF vs OU as a permanent. Which would be weird.

I'll believe when it is official, but if Ole Miss and Ms State aren't two of our three or however many permanent opponents the system is flawed.

Agreed

Oklahoma would be an odd pairing for anyone other than Texas and Missouri. They have to have another upper tier opponent to go with Texas.

How is Auburn not a permanent opponent with Bama? This doesn't make sense to me.

They are. The OP is about Bama’s permanent opponents being Auburn, Tennessee and LSU.

One of the goals was for each top tier team to have 2 of the 3 permanent opponents be top tier teams. Historical ties like this would create inequities in average schedule strength. In no iteration of this was LSU ever going to draw both Mississippi schools.

Would you rather have Vandy and nobody show up to the game?

Yes, but Vandy doesn't make sense. It should be regional, IMO.

You will still have games like Bama and Vandy regardless.

And if people don't show up for any SEC games then that's sad and on them, but I would rather not be paired up with Bama and A&M. I'm not a prideful person. Expanded playoffs will give you games to attend to as well.

How it should work is you have 2 of the 3 be the obvious ones. Aub-Bama, Aub-UGA, FL-UGA, State-Ole, TX-OU etc then the third permanent opponent is decided based on the determined strength of the first two. Initially rank all teams based on their average finish in the coaches poll in the last 10 years. And then every 10 years you reevaluate the third permanent opponent. So if the combination of your set permanent opponents strength was the highest then you get the weakest possible team as your third permanent opponent.

At this point I’d rather lose to bama 8 out of 10 times than to beat aTm 8 out of 10. I hate playing them, not for football reasons.

Yeah, signing top rated class ever screams downward spiral

I could care less about class rank, especially with the portal. Graph their season results over the last 10 years. They are clearly trending downwards.

Exactly! The last time we were good enough to win the title we ran roughshod over Alabama. Just be good, then it will be them complaining they have to beat us.

With Kelly in charge he's got reason for fear. LSU is coming. He might be going.

This is dumb. The playoff/SECCG were the least entertaining games in 2019. The Alabama game was truly epic. This is entertainment. I want to win championships. Doing so playing a shite schedule is sort of self defeating as a fan. Winning is great but Winning big games against hated rivals creates memories that last a lifetime.

I could tell you more details about the Alabama game in 2019 than any post season game that year and I was at them all.
