Keep telling yourself that.

Saban built LSU I don’t care what you think.

What was LSU before him? Happy to go 8-3 and making a New Year day bowl was like winning a NC.

LSU fans need to get over their hate for Saban and thank him for what he did here.

Saban stipulated 3 conditions upon taking the job. Learn your LSU football history.

Not only did he build us into a powerhouse, he kickstarted DBU (since that’s been a topic of discussion around here recently).

Correct, and before Saban, it was big news if LSU cracked the top 10 recruiting class. Saban flipped that for LSU, and it's always been an expectation since.

Correct

If you want to be upset with someone, it should be Skip Bertman for not taking Saban back when he asked to come back. Skip thought we had the right guy in Les Miles. The worse AD decision ever.

I think we are here because saban showed you could win big at lsu.

But dinardo showed saban that you could win.

People act like we were dog shite the entire time under dinardo. It just went off the rails in the end. The team had been ranked in the top 5.

DiNardo was not a great coach but he had a marketing ploy that was genius “Bring Back the Magic” and he used tactics that have become tradition at LSU that stand until this day. This is the turn around I remember at LSU before Saban was ever a thought at LSU. I will just never forget Saban professing his love for LSU while The Dolphins plane was parked at the airport.

If Saban stays, he probably has similar results as at 'Bama....that's what is so galling to Tiger fans....

Before Saban, our identity was a scrappy underdog with a rabid, rowdy fan base that would make Saturday night in Tiger Stadium miserable for opponents. We woild win 8-9 games a season, travel to a bowl game, and pull off a major upset every couple of years or so. And we were happy with that.

Saban changed that. He showed us what champions did, and we followed. He changed, no elevated, our culture to the point that the 2 bumbling fools that followed him won championships.

I hated that he left for the NFL, but rationalized that he wanted that challenge. I was so angry when he went to Bama. Anywhere but Bama!

I’m still angry about that, but in the end he has my respect and gratitude for elevating our program to where we can contend for the championship. And I believe Kelly can get us there again.

Saban was in the right place at the right time. LSU was finally ready to spend. Saban benefitted from it, but he did no cause it.

I thought this too after he bombed in the nfl and lost to ULM. But then he had a pretty good run and changed my mind.

I remember it well this has been my opinion for forever almost word for word ask my friend Rex he is a sabin fanatic too , it is the sabin fanatics that slowed coach miles recruiting down and gave bama the lead in recruiting !

LSU: 48–16
Alabama: 201–29

Les Miles
Oklahoma State: 28–21 [30–38 previously]
LSU: 77–34
Kansas: 3–18

Program builders are coaches that can repeat that feat. Thats why colleges throw big bucks at winners, hoping they can do it again

No one ever threw big bucks at Dinardo or Miles. And neither one had any other success stories
