Was at the 2000 Tennessee game in BR and peach vs Ga tech. Loved his guts in the first and his leadership in the second. Rohan to Reed were good times. That Robert Royal throw, tho……

I think the next jersey that should be retired is Kevin Faulk's. He was a factor from day one. He was an All-American. He came to LSU when they were at their lowest point. He stayed all four years. He came back and coached after a stellar NFL career.
RD was good, but #3 was legendary.

So if Burrow is considered (and he should be) so should Daniels.
Nah… nobody has worn #9 since 2019. They already gave #5 to Ju’Juan Jennings.

Rohan was a warrior. One of the most effortless looking mechanics in his passes.

His picture definitely deserves to be in the QB room.
I greatly enjoyed watching and rooting for Rohan in purple and gold, but do not think that his number should be retired.

Rohan is a fan favorite and why Josh Booty ever got playing time over him (for reasons other than health) is still a mystery to me to this day. But his peak individual achievement is being 2nd team All SEC once. That's just not jersey retirement worthy when you have as many 1st team all SEC and All Americans as we have had.

Dude would sweat in the coldest weather and walked like Fred Sanford with glass in his shoes, but he could sling that pigskin.

Great Tiger, but disagree. Jamarcus was a better QB.
Retiring a jersey is fine, but retiring numbers is stupid. You can’t retire every good QBs number. 9 and 72 shouldn’t be retired either.

Rohan isn't even a top five lsu qb.

What does that have to do with anything?
Daniel’s number should still be in consideration if Burrows is as well.

quote:Booty was considered same tier as Peyton Manning coming out of high school, and that's taking into account all the stuff we Saints fans heard about Peyton practicing informally with the Saints (people saying Peyton at 17 was the best QB out there).

Booty was supposed to be a superstar.
I think the speculation at the time was that Rohan just didn't practice like he played; and I'd also add that Booty probably didn't play like he practiced. There also seemed to be a rift in the team with Booty, maybe him being older and coming from baseball, with an "I'm the hero" attitude.
I agree, retire the jersey if you want to (not sure he merits that), but absolutely not the number. I don't think we should retire any numbers in the college game.

People also forget that Josh Booty was a 1st team All-SEC QB in 2000. Ro was great, but it's not like Josh Booty was chopped liver. Of course, 2000 wasn't exactly the shining beacon of glory for SEC QBs (the AP 1st team pick was Ben Leard). And there was that traumatic game-losing INT vs UAB that scarred most LSU fans and has many of us still triggered by the name "Josh Booty" over 2 decades later. So between that and the absurdly high expectations, it's pretty understandable why people forget his "good" performance.

You could say Josh Booty was always going to be damned no matter what. Like I said, he was linked with Peyton Manning coming out of high school, but Booty played minor league a few years while Peyton was all-universe. So when Booty came to LSU, the anticipation from a section of the fanbase was that he also was going to be incredible, and "good" just didn't cut it.

I loved watching Rohan play but Kevin Faulk needs to be the next number to be retired and then Glenn Dorsey

He’s a legend but he’s not worthy of retiring a jersey. That’s for Burrow type guys.

My View:
Win a Heisman Trophy…. Your number is retired.
Other than the Heisman….. you will be forever remembered by the LSU faithful in Tiger Lore …. But NO number retirement.
