Yes. But he would be ineligible thru next spring. Not sure it matters except would it mean he pays his own way and all of that until eligible?
Every player transferring is having immediate eligibility per what the NCAA passed, nobody has to sit out.

The NCAA has not passed a one time immediate eligibility for transfers yet. They delayed the vote until this summer

Jones - "I can make you the number one pick in the draft."
Ricks - " Sold. "
Ricks - " Sold. "

It's going to happen, it's why the transfer portal is as lit as ever.
I think you might be thinking of something different? What about this:
NCAA passes 1 time waiver transfer

When’s the last time a DB was picked number one in the draft? Ricks is good, but not overall number one pick good.

They are still probably butt hurt after letting Burrow transfer over here and win a NC.

You get my point....if Jones can fix anything, it should be the secondary. That's half the battle....

Having both Ricks and Singley on the same field can mean the difference in 1-2 wins IMO.

I don’t think any DB is worth #1.

Yeah I think he had class to get to is what my sauce told me.

He can't go anywhere anyway even if he wanted to. He's already enrolled...
Not until May, and he would have to be in good academic standing to have a shot at a waiver if the NCAA ever figured out what they’re going to do with them.
A team can also frick up a player’s waiver if they allege tampering. It could happen in Ricks’ case if he decides to leave later on.

Fix the damn stupid arse weed policy...

LSU is going to have the best duo of CB's in the country next year.

I'm pretty sure I've read that in (very) recent years, CB has actually overtaken DE/EDGE as the most valuable position on defense. We've seen plenty of EDGE guys go #1 overall, so I don't think it's at all out of the question to suggest that a corner could possibly go number 1 at some point.
Hell, if Stingley absolutely dominates all year, then goes to the combine and runs a 4.3 and measures 6'1" or 6'2" with long arms, who are you taking over him at 1.1? Spencer Rattler? Kedon Slovis? The UNC QB? The Iowa State kid? Those dudes are all good, but none of them really jump off the page like Burrow or Lawrence or even Fields or Wilson or Tua. I think there is legitimately a non-zero chance that Stingley goes first this year. I definitely don't think its *likely*, but I also don't think it's completely impossible.

There is also a NCAA rule that you can't transfer yourself out of a school imposed suspension. So if he is facing a 4 game suspension for weed at LSU, he can't go to Ohio St to get away from the suspension.

Lol why did asking who it came from that he was at workouts this morning garner 29 downvotes? I hadn't seen it reported was just curious.

With Corey Raymond and Daronte coming in, it makes no sense for a DB to leave.
