We may should have tempered D expectations with a new DC in Baker.

There’s SOME improvement but it’s still a talent issue, IMO

We have to execute in the red zone and be more creative

Funny how this has changed.

Before the game they were just a mediocre at best team that beat the piss out of a horrible Kentucky game.

Now that they gave LSU a game, they’re a quality team.

The rant never disappoints.

Most people that are excited is because we won. If Sellers doesn’t get hurt, we probably lose by 10.

it concerns me that during the 6 or 7 month offseason, Kelly has hardly anything figured out with his team, and it takes putting his team in a difficult spot early on to be in consideration for the final 12 at the end of the regular season.

Live action gameplay is a lot different than practice.

I totally agree with you brother. That USCe team is pretty good and that place looked and sounded (on tv with surround sound anyway) like it was off the chains. Also I kept saying wait till we see how Ole Piss does in Columbia before we judge that team, Beamer Ball 2.0 looks like they’re gonna be a force to be reckoned with the next few years as they become a really good program. Also some guy started a thread about Nuss being the best QB in the conference and his Heisman chances this year. I told him to pump the brakes a bit HOWEVER next year is shaping up just fine the way I see it. This was my take from his thread………

He could possibly have a real shot at Heisman and a Natty and that would make it 3 Heisman QB’s in 7 years and 4 Natty’s in 23 years with 4 DIFFERENT COACHES!!!!! Our fan base would still find reasons to bitch. Unfukinbelievable!!!!!! So let be ask you this about this year. 10-2 and 1-1 in the playoff. Would this be a huge win for this year? I’ll hang up and listen….

Well yeah because certain "fans" really don't want Nuss to succeed and would rather the whole team fail than admit they're wrong. Same for BK.

Carolina IS a good team.

I think they have a legit defense. I think their offense is middling and we made it look better than it was because quite frankly we don't have LSU level talent on defense right now and also we had blown assignments that led to two big plays.

Yeah, I don't think even a lot of LSU fans are giving their own team enough credit for this. It means something to me and if you saw the kids on the field after the game, it meant something to them.

Their QB who got hurt - he had two turnovers in the first half, no guarantee he doesn't turn it over a couple of more times in the second half - they pretty much quit passing with the back up, they probably try to keep passing a bit with the starter and I think we had adjusted a bit there.

Well that blows. Anyway about THIS YEAR, would going 10-2 and making the playoffs then going 1-1 in said playoffs which would put us in the top 8 teams, would this be considered a great or good year?

Please someone, anyone answer my question……….

Hmm imo I'd say that's a great year. Hopefully Nuss returns and we can go all the way next year if that happened.

LSU faced a completely different offense in the 2nd half when Sellers was out.
This has been sort of noticeably missing from much of the commentary I've seen around here. Backup QB almost entire 2nd half.

They are a good defense and below-average offense.

7-5, 8-4 type team.

I agree it would be a great year. Say we lose to eATMe on the road or OU at home, so that would include home wins against Ole Piss and Bama and not only making the playoffs but getting a win in said playoffs would be incredible. Also if that is the case there’s no reason BK couldn’t rally and finish with not only the #1 recruit in the land but also the #1 RECRUITING CLASS in the land AND follow that up with a Heisman winning QB and BK’s first Natty of his illustrious career and I would say that our football program is not only putting hats on hats but in a wonderful place.

Before the season we don't really know how good anyone is. I think there's still a possibility USCe is mediocre, but the fact they blew out Kentucky who gave UGA a dogfight also has to factor into this. These games could be anomalies but right now USCe is looking fairly decent based on what we've seen in the first few weeks.

Wish I could upvote this more. I live in Charleston and they are still bigggg mad. They’re blaming everything and everyone except they refuse to acknowledge that over the last 3 quarters we out gained them 375 to 200…and 140 of their 200 came on 2 plays. We got into a 17-0 hole and it was just as close to being a 45-24 game.

I don’t care what anyone says, that was an impressive gut-check win for LSU. I was impressed with the fight and the way it played out given the circumstances

GREAT building block for the rest of the season.

I rlly love the cb duo of stamps and zy now that he’s healthy. Both gives us length, physicality and competitive coverage

Stamps’ technique is Kristian Fulton all over again - and both from Rummel. Fulton used to maul receivers. He got called for PI a lot, but he shut them down. Stamps does not quite have Fulton’s athleticism, but he uses that same New England Patriots technique of mauling receivers and making the refs make a call.

Zy is just a natural corner. He looks so comfortable out there.
