The only thing I disagree with (a little bit) is that Jennings should be starting. I think Harris can learn more from taking his lumps in a real game situation. That might cause some QBs to lose confidence in themselves but Harris is so cocky that I don't think it's a problem for him.
That said, I'd be ok with your proposal of starting Jennings this week, let Harris come in off the bench and then starting at home against UK.
ETA: Oh, and big upvote for having the stomach to sit through that game again.

If Jennings starts this week and plays more than 50% of the snaps LSU loses. being nervous in your first start is one thing. 3 TOs to a team ranked 119 in 1 quarter is another. I will put $50 on it. You can PM me for paypal.

3 TO's in one quarter doesn't warrant much playing time the next week with a qb that drove the team to 7 TD's in the same game.

He only had 1 INT before that game. ), and even a few before him. Age certainly does give one perspective when evaluating a coach that may not always win the "prettiest" but certainly wins more than any other coach in the history of a program.

Yeah, I mean, Harris was completely off and had trouble focusing, but he still didn't turn the ball over three times in the 1st quarter against inferior talent like Jennings did in the previous game. I like Jennings. He had a bad game against NMSU like all QBs have, but based on their performances, Harris was the one to go with. Neither QB had played in a true road game, so things were kind of equal there. And we scored our only points when Harris was in there (could've scored a few more if we would've called a timeout before half).

Great post and I agree, starting a true freshman on the road vs a team that played for a National Championship last season should've been seen as an obvious mistake, and probably would have, if not for Jennings' god awful performance vs NMSt. forcing Miles hand. We need a QB to step up an lead this offense and I don't care which one.

Why all the stupidity. Either Harris can play or he can't. He won't be better in a second or third series than he would be in the first.
The thing that changes with a young player is consistency, and I expected him to have a bad outing and wanted to watch him deal with adversity for the first time in a LONG time. Les has to let him come back and show how he can put bad outings in the past. It's part if a true freshman growing up and becoming a leader.
He is the better talent, period. I see no one ever has claimed differently. Lea should play him thru this and stick by his assessment that Harris is the better player. If he doesn't, I further shows that Mile's doesn't know a fricking thing about how to develope a leader at qb these days. Miles should play the better player with more playmaking ability, especially with a weak OL.
It's how leaders and winners are born. They aren't born by losing a position after a dismal TEAM performance.
Please please would everyone stop acting like Jennings has all kinds of experience! If that's what makes him your choice, then you have to admit Harris will shine with more experience. Give him the start and stick with him. You have to instill your confidence in him! If the defense hold someone to 20 pts and then he does losing mistakes, that's a different topic. Many of us posted at the beginning of the season that the defensive line and the quarterback position were going to be our weak spots along with coaching of course and that we're going to be in trouble. Of course the rantards still claim national championship year and bashed the messenger.

Fans should rewatch. Then maybe they would stop coming on here spewing bullshite that all we run is two TE sets. Which we ran only once at auburn. And really haven't seen it much since the miss state goal line stand.
That shows me the coaches did go away from what wasn't working. And before people shite on last game. We ran with ease on first down, that's why we kept doing it.

No you were not! A freshman will have his share of mistakes, confidence lost, and consistency issues.
The mistake is the pumpers thinking Jennings isn't a freshman (as far as live action) and would have done better. There simply are no indicators to prove Jennings would have had better success.
The right choice is starting the guy who is in the best long term interest of the program. Jennings had a solid test sample of games to prove he could get it done consistently, Harris deserves the same since he was deemed the better choice by the staff after multiple failures by Jennings and multiple great showings by Harris.
Why anyone thinks Jennings is more ready to go on the road into a hostile environment in the SEC is beyond my comprehension. Why is this a thought process of some. When has he done that before?
