Excellent post. I saw the wall of words and thought I was going to bail early but enjoyed it all.

Totally agree with you on Jennings and Harris. I was surprised that the two QB's didn't split more of the first half.

I am not going to agree that 10 should have started because he had me pulling my hair out after the first quarter of the N.M.St. game. I was calling for a change then (although not booing in the process), and I am not going to change my mind now. I don't necessarily like the 2 quarterback system but we may have to use it for the time being.

I think Miles was trying to show confidence in Harris letting him battle through it. Just like the JJ/JL debates, I'm not sure there is a clear right answer. You'd just hope you have the talent around that neither actually loses a game for us. But with our run D playing so bad, this may be just like 2008.

it's worse IMO. 2008 offense had a great o line and the offense could score points despite the pick 6 once a game.

Lacouture has been extremely ineffective.

Really? He had 6 tackles, 1.5 TFL and 1 sack. Lacouture played well.

I mean if we are willing to give a pass to Harris for possibly the worst LSU QB performance in my lifetime, why are we still clinging to one quarter if shite play from a guy getting booed by his home crowd?

Again, the defense is MUCH more of a concern than QB play. That said, I keep seeing people post "well Jennings had the worst quarter I've ever seen." However I agree with you that Harris might have had the worst 2.5 quarters a LSU QB has had in a long time. What difference does it make that you didn't throw and interception if you can't move the offense at all? In his 2.5 quarters of play he had 3 completions had Nine 3&out drives, Nine!! That stat is even worse considering the fact that as the OP pointed out, LSU was pretty good on first down. Plus, the majority of the incompletions weren't even close to catchable.

The reality is that fans decided long before the season that Harris was the best QB LSU had on the roster based upon his HS recruiting ranking and that he had a strong arm, that's it. Just go ahead and bookmark this thread now for when LSU fans are overhyping the next true Freshman QB in 2016. May as well get an early start.

Neither guy has been great when it matter except that Jennings made some plays in the 2nd half of Wisc. to bring LSU back from a 17 point deficit. I fail to see the empircial evidence that shows one is CLEARLY better than the other at this point

I still think Jennings should have started out this road trip with Harris coming off the bench, and then turn the ball over to Harris in a home start against Kentucky.

Maybe but once the switch was made to Harris as a starter it should remain. Remain at least as long as Jennings got to start.
If CLM starts Jennings now it will essentially disrupt both QB development or at least Harris.

The fact that they are splitting snaps send a bad message to the team IMO

Harris was terrible against a top 5 team... Jennings was terrible against New Mexico St. One is more understandable than the other.

It's more and more obvious as well that the DEs are just as ineffective as the DTs

Chavis has consistently not asked his DEs to pressure mobile QBs. He uses a contain defense or a mush rush. They want to be disruptive, but hold down the line.

he did well in the second half of that game but his NMSU start made jefferson and lee look like heisman candidates.

Good analysis. Only thing I disagree with is thinking that starting Harris was a mistake. He had shown TREMENDOUS upside leading up to last Saturday, whereas Jennings started to struggle. I can't blame Miles for making that decision, and I certainly don't think it was a result of the fans booing at the NM St. game.

miles isn't going to put up with turnovers from the QB. period. while harris hasn't won the job, I think jennings lost it with his NMSU 3 turnovers in a quarter of play performance.

Tell me again what Jennngs has done? He looks like JJ's shadow. Harris will become better with playing time. Jennings has done nothing since last years Ark. game. Les, is not able to get great QB's at LSU or don't know how to coach them up.
