Isn't Brown hitting with more power this yr? IMO, he belongs in the better.
Hard to say on Evans since he's in a different role.
Agree on the rest.

He is but he’s fallen off big time in SEC play.
Last year in SEC play he slashed .324/.386/.662.
This year in SEC play he slashed .214/.325/.443

Has been worse. Jay was counting on a lot more from him this year.

I would agree about the Jay statement, but statistically he has been about the same.

People won’t admit it but player progression has been just as big of a problem as the transfer portal. It’s actually why the transfer portal misses are hitting so hard.
And it’s not just this year. Especially at the plate. Frey made a nice jump last year and Brown this year. Arrambide looks like he might be making that jump. But other than that most players have been stagnant or even worse from year to year at the plate.

I would say defensively he improved over the course of last season. He regressed this year defensively from the end of last year.

Even in the pros it seems like a crapshoot nowadays.
I've seen kids with talent at the youth level not get properly coached/ parented, make it to HS and not start then quit.
I've seen kids with potential at the youth level make it HS and not get properly coached and go unnoticed.
I've seen kids with talent get to HS and not be properly coached and not get to the next level.
Every now and then the stars align with talent and good youth and HS coaching.
Parents don't want to accept that what may be best for their prepubescent kid might be an average team with good coaching and may not win a tournament. Because in their mind, winning= success.
Even in the pros this shows up. Batter pops up, states at the ball, then starts walking back to the dugout. Meanwhile on the field (either F6/F4) is having to direct players like it's tee ball.

Rizy seems to be worse to me. He looked like he was coming around late last year but his command has been horrendous. Milam’s bat has regressed.
It’s hard to say Stanfield is worse with the injuries he sustained. When he first came back he was one of the only guys hitting. Then he gets hurt again. Cowan seems the same to me. He has a good outing then a rough one. We don’t really have anyone we can count on in the pen.

Rizy has regressed
Brown has definitely improved, its disingenuous to state otherwise, dude was dealing with a hamate issue for the last few weeks.
Reaves is the same, but low bar there
People keep saying cowan has gotten worse and i dont see it, he looks like a reliable relief option to me. Dude has been crushed by our terrible defense plenty.
Benge is 20x better this year than last. He is pitching in meaningful spots now

Agree on stanfield, technically he is worse, but its hard to say with the injuries

Rizy-Worse
Milam-Worse (offensively)
Cowan- Same (fielding has killed him this year.)
Agreed with the rest.

Benge is better. Browns definitely better. He didn't even play vs LHP last year.
Fontenot and Yamin didn't really play last year so can't say.
Primeaux is the same.

Ok that clip should absolutely have been called an infield fly rule to protect the offense from that exact scenario.

Rizy and Guidry are bad as it gets

There was only a runner on 1st
IF fly rule to be in effect, there has to be less than 2 outs and runners on 1 and 2, or 1, 2, and 3.

I question if Milam should be in the worse category.

Didn’t Jay say that he hurt it in his 3rd AB of the Sunday game against Texas A&M?

I guess. I mean last year he threw 16 inning in SEC play and had a 6.75 ERA. This year he has only thrown 5.2 innings in SEC play and has a 11.12 ERA.

All of these are looking at them from strictly a production/numbers standpoint. I tried to look at both overall numbers and conference only numbers. I had to give some leeway for each category but if y’all disagree, I’d love to see some numbers pointing towards why you disagree.
