I mean this is what he says on the transcript right? Like a scholarship is definitely NOT what he meant, but can't prove that right?

Isn't Pete Thamel that fricking hack who wrote the Tyrann Mathieu hatchet job about accepting kickbacks from a club because his picture was on a flyer?

Not saying Wade wasn't subpoenaed, but anything this guys says regarding LSU and NCAA violations in general I'm taking with several large grains of salt

I think this NCAA stuff is a bunch of bullshite, but this is an example of why the "extend him and pay him whatever he wants" comments are a bit premature.

Let's get this NCAA monkey off his (and LSU's) back before we go down that road, or at least put some major stipulations in his contract if it is extended.

Representatives? Garrett Graves is getting subpoenaed?

I know its Twitter, but Thamel's tweet is unnecessarily confusing.

You ever seen a witness list for the federal government in a white collar criminal case? They include everybody under the sun as a potential witness and end up calling very few of those folks.

I think it's bullshite only in the sense that college basketball is the dirties of any sport and you have to cheat to win. If they actually do come after Wade and Miller, there are much larger fish that will fall.

I don't see anything coming of it.

Unless there is more out there, this is a nothingburger. Even if it could be proven that's what he meant, the recruit never even visited LSU and signed with Florida State.

He could claim he was just playing along because he didn't want to insult anyone or make an enemy, but had no intention of breaking any rules.

Cheating is against the rules. Talking about cheating is not.

Ding ding ding, your 100% correct.

If Wade goes down, that means they are taking all of college basketball down.

Now if they try to make examples out of Wade and Miller, i will be livid.

Pete Thamel is the same guy who said months ago that Will Wade was under investigation (he wasn’t). This may or may not be true, but I don’t take anything he says seriously.

This. Maybe they have more on him, I don't know. But what we have heard thus far doesn't sound like enough to get LSU or Wade in any actual trouble. Maybe it will cause the NCAA to snoop around more. I've also got to think Wade, et al have been extraordinarily cautious in the interim as well. Until I see otherwise, I'm going to assume nothing will come of this that adversely affects LSU and LSU's basketball program.

Being subpoenaed is not being charged or accused of anything. Being subpoenaed means they want your testimony in some matter. Now- that testimony might be something that you would prefer not to speak about, but a subpoena in and of itself doesn’t mean anything negative.
