There are plenty of teams that manage to not have Joe Brady and still have a good offense. People act like he is the first guy in the history of the world to run the spread. Take a deep breath, it’ll be ok.

No we probably won’t have the best offense in the history of CFB again, but that was never going to happen. We can still have a good offense.

Hopefully the process that found Brady is replicable.

I knew this was going to be really hard for him to pass up.

Me too. I hope he does well and it’s not one of those opportunities that he isn’t ready for.

Geaux get ‘em Joe, except for the Saints.

I would argue that 99% of folks around here describing Ensminger’s and Brady’s roles are just taking wild arse guesses. The only people who truly know are the coaches, the players, and a very limited group of insiders/friends of the program.

I haven’t heard much from the players regarding the specific game-planning and play-calling roles for each coach. The coaches say Ensminger calls most of the plays while Brady makes suggestions, occasionally calls sequences, and communicates with Burrow on adjustments. The media insiders seem to support that. The only folks who are certain that “Brady calls the offense” are basing their analysis on a handful of camera shots of the booth.

It’s absolutely fair to be concerned about what we lose in the way of game-planning and play-calling. But anyone who says they know exactly how much of it was done by Brady is either connected to the program or full of shite.

The unfortunate part is that our offense wasn’t likely to replicate this year’s performance regardless of whether Brady stayed. Before, most folks would have chalked it up to losing one of the best to ever play the game. Now, we’ll have to deal with a constant bitchfest between those who “blame the coaches” and those who “blame the players”.

The simple thing is to look at Steve and our offense from 2010 to 2018, then to look at 2019. You don't need to know the ratio of responsibility with THAT big of a gap in production. It's quite clear.

going back to what we've seen for the last 12 years!

Why would this even be an option? I’m sure someone besides Brady can implement the playbook.

Don’t blame Brady at all for taking the big money and rolling out. If he stuck around another year the offers would shrivel up and be significantly less. Take the money and run.

Also, keep in mind this is a young kid who has had Drew frickin Brees and Joe Burrow to work with. Brees and the Saints offense have already been one of the best in the NFL for 14 years so it’s not like Brady was the reason for their success in any way shape or form. Brady’s claim to fame is this incredible season (with a Heisman trophy winner)

So we’ll see if he’s worth all the hype or not without the benefit of a Hall of Fame QB and Heisman winner.

Wish him well. Joe thanks for helping us renovate the offense and coach up our receivers! I think George Munoz is the next man up. Sounds like he coached Burrow up pretty well. Ensminger will keep implementing the RPO stuff and we get another WR coach!

Happy for Joe and appreciate his contributions.

Good news is guys will now look at a LSU offensive staff position as a great opportunity for themselves. It'll be on Coach O to select the right person, and I believe he will.

We’ll see. Brady didn’t coach QB’s he coached WR’s. As long as the replacement runs similar concepts Miles should be fine.

Maybe, but probably not. And a new qb with a OC that has never installed an offense. Hired an offensive staff. Directed and managed said staff, solely responsibly for gamelans and calling games is a far cry from where he has been.

There is no way I make this gamble if I am Carolina.

The tired retread tactic most teams like to employ (because it’s not seen as a “gamble”) is nothing but an assurance of continued mediocrity. Bold moves upward success-wise require bold moves.

Calling it now.

Joe Brady to the Carolina Panthers as OC where he flames out in the NFL after two years and comes back to the SEC just in time to take over for Saban after he retires. He then proceeds to thoroughly dominate our asses again for the next 25 years or so.

Because that's just how our luck goes. Just a taste to try success and then crush us.

We can't ever have nice things. Can't even enjoy a national title without getting a backhand within 24 hours.

Will always be grateful for him setting our offense up for the future. If it wasn't gonna be this year, it was going to be next.
Never expected our Broils award winning coach to stay a school where he wasn't even the offensive coordinator making an Aranda type salary.
If he's successful at Carolina, you won't see him in college again. He will be a head coach in the NFL.
