Coach O lost Brady because he was so stubborn and kept Ensminger. Much like Les did with Cameron.

Well then go rent your clothes and throw dirt up in the air sitting Indian style.

So much butt hurt in this thread. This is a product of winning, happens at Alabama every year. Plus, nfl coordinators work WAY less than college coordinators, its a much better job. Good luck to coach brady.

Yes but Alabama usually keep their Assistants for more than one freakin year

Quite possible. But LSU and "O" were in a precarious position. Do you pay an passing game co-ordinator Aranda type money to keep him when the man that holds the OC position is making about $900K a year??
For me...I would have topped whatever they offered to keep him and dealt with the circumstances.
Its better than going back to what we've seen for the last 12 years!

frick Rhule for leaving Baylor before even winning the conference.

frick the trash organization that is the Panthers.

But most of all frick the stale fake corrupt worthless NFL - the entity that does nothing but leeches off of and waters down the greatest sport in the history of mankind, college football.

I guess we’ll see what Steve and O are made of. If there is a huge drop off then we know who was running the show this year.

Steve has been here since 2010. But Why haven't we seen anything close to this in the last 3 years though?

Also this is a huge deal if we don’t find a replacement. The “he’s not taking the playbook with him” crowd is vastly underestimating his role, and overinflating Ensminger’s role as the “primary playcaller.”

I would argue that 99% of folks around here describing Ensminger’s and Brady’s roles are just taking wild arse guesses. The only people who truly know are the coaches, the players, and a very limited group of insiders/friends of the program.

I haven’t heard much from the players regarding the specific game-planning and play-calling roles for each coach. The coaches say Ensminger calls most of the plays while Brady makes suggestions, occasionally calls sequences, and communicates with Burrow on adjustments. The media insiders seem to support that. The only folks who are certain that “Brady calls the offense” are basing their analysis on a handful of camera shots of the booth.

It’s absolutely fair to be concerned about what we lose in the way of game-planning and play-calling. But anyone who says they know exactly how much of it was done by Brady is either connected to the program or full of shite.

The unfortunate part is that our offense wasn’t likely to replicate this year’s performance regardless of whether Brady stayed. Before, most folks would have chalked it up to losing one of the best to ever play the game. Now, we’ll have to deal with a constant bitchfest between those who “blame the coaches” and those who “blame the players”.

Orgeron said Tuesday morning that a deal likely won't happen until the season is over, and he's confident that his wunderkind assistant will remain in Baton Rouge. Like 0% confident?

You don’t think Steve learned anything from working with Joe the last year? Come on. You think they’re going to dump the whole system and go back to what didn’t work? Steve, Miles, Chase and Marshall have all worked in the system for a year. They will be ok.

I wonder how many players will now declare, recruits go elsewhere, or players enter transfer portal?

He will, however have Christian McCaffery — a guy who just dropped a 1,000 rushing and receiving season.

Also, Carolina is in a nice spot to maybe trade up for a qb.

Maybe, but probably not. And a new qb with a OC that has never installed an offense. Hired an offensive staff. Directed and managed said staff, solely responsibly for gamelans and calling games is a far cry from where he has been.

There is no way I make this gamble if I am Carolina.

Better get used to losing assistant coaches. Especially if your team has succes like LSU did this year. Not to mention shattering records and winning Championships. But I trust O to bring in a good replacement. He’s earned it.

Here come the mediocre 10-win seasons again and the offense looking like it is stuck in quicksand!

Here we go...

Was our OL performance great last year? Because they win the Joe Moore award this year.

Was our WR corps as good last year when our Biletnikoff winner was a true freshman?

Was Danny Etling + Derrius Guice, or Joe Burrow + Nick Brossette, the same thing as Joe Burrow + CEH?

Does it help to return 7 starters plus 4+ rotational players on offense?

Did Joe Burrow improve in his second year as a starter?

Did Thad Moss play before this year?

Did we make dramatic changes to our offensive scheme?

Did any of the factors above affect our ability to implement those changes?

You people want there to be ONE reason for success, and that’s just not the case.
