And all those guys are trying to move up to the top WR spot in the draft and get more money

They likely will now

The only other thing I can think of is maybe he had a chance to see what this offense looked like and said NOPE.

This decision makes me wonder how Brennan is looking.

Why isn’t Sunshine opting out at Clemson? His stock can’t be improved either.

His stock can improve. He looked average to below in the CFP. There's definitely room for growth. He completed 48.6% of his passes against LSU and 54.5% against tOSU. Burrown completed 63%. He's got the arm, but he can certainly improve.

It's always funny to me to watch grown arse men get mad at a college kid for making a decision that's in the best interest of he and his family.
You have a point but if he was going to do it, he should have opted out a long time ago. If you make a commitment, you shouldn't quit at the last minute.

Geez, he's going to regret letting outside influences to make this decision. The whole professional sports landscape will be different post Covid.

He could have had one more year of team camaraderie and enjoying the the game for what it is; from hence on its all business.

This is sad the school gave you a full ride. If you fail to live up to your obligations this year you should pay the school back for tuition, books, etc

From Ryan Clark’s twitter page.

That was his form of an apology after he was told to fall in line.

That’s already been happening for the past 10-20 years. Why do you think we always have a handful of freshmen impact players

Early football development has advanced to the point that these guys are much more ready for the college game sooner than they ever have been. Most of the time a redshirt season is just a waste for the top talents.

Get what you can out of them and plan for an early exit if they blow up. We’ve been doing it since the peak Miles years

Sounds good! Then lets make college football a job an put some of these slackers that are on scholarship in the street. I have a job and can be fired at anytime and replaced so why shouldn't they.

So. Times were way different you selfish fan ..... you people are going crazy over a player that made a choice, and are pissed because he won’t be playing for LSU this year...... Grow up................

What planet do you live on where fans are not supposed to be disappointed? Yes there will be a small % who overreact, but your take is equally clownish.

He quit. That’s fine, maybe not even the wrong decision given the circumstances (that we are not privy to). But he still quit...people will always feel a certain way about a quitter.

Forcing him to give back the tuition and books is insane. He helped make LSU 1000x more than the value of tuition and books by helping lead us to a national title.

Have you never changed your mind about anything? It's a difficult decision.

I just feel bad for Brennan. Dude waits this long to inherit half a team because of Corona.

LSU fans...” oh NO Chase has said he is sitting out a season that MAY not even happen” “ How dare he do this to us.” He should stay and help us win”. “ I don’t care about his personal goals”.

This is what I’m hearing in this thread....

It’s really sad...

Waddle will go ahead of him if he plays.

Waddle is 5’10, 180. He’s not going ahead of Chase, who is a bonafide outside WR1 with elite ball skills and separation

Chase played against elite talent last year. There’s no question marks. The NFL would’ve drafted him top 10 last year if allowed and they’ll do the same next year.

Jamar Chase had no business playing another year of college ball anyway.

dumbass comment. yeah so once a player has a great year they all need to leave right? shite let's employ the 1 and done like roundball.

do you hate when great players have to play multiple years? how did you feel when players had to stay 4 years?

Damage was already done. Him and O did smooth things over apparently, but look at this mess we are in now. I’d almost prefer we don’t have a season at this point. Let everything regroup and smooth things over and come back with a full season and foolproof plan.

Did you just accidentally stumble upon player compensation and not even realize it

And CFB already operates in a system where they can “fire” the players at any time. It happens every year. Even better they can fire the player and tell them they can’t go to other places who are “hiring”
