Money. Not to mention home teams ain’t giving up many tickets for a home game. Makes teams a lot less interested in these big matchup if they know their fans can’t go.

It is the first game of a "home and home" neutral site series. LSU will open next season vs. FSU in Orlando (Citrus Bowl stadium)
As an aside, the 2024 schedule looks fun with LSU slated to open against USC in Las Vegas followed by UCLA in Tiger Stadium 3 weeks later.

Don’t know but I’m good with it

IMO the allure of “neutral site” games wore off long ago
Just one more detractor from the allure of what collegiate athletics once was.

The worst part about this deal is that we have to play FSU in fricking Orlando

Nice knowing the game won’t be affected by Mother Nature!!

I think it is a good idea. And this series was planned to be at neutral sites both years. We have seven games in TS and that is enough.
Go watch the NFL if you aren’t a college football fan. I want to play and tailgate at college stadiums. The last place I want to watch LSU play FSU week one is in New Orleans but I understand why they do it.

Best part about the neutral site series, in my opinion. The market for tickets to the game against UT in Austin was ridiculous.

So because he doesn’t mind the neutral site games he’s not a college football fan?

Money? Recruiting?
Both.
Free Chicken: It puts a weed up our Baton Rouge fans asses which is fun, god forbid they have to travel for a game.

LSU v TX was so good because it was AT UT.
Did you go to that game? Would've much rather had 40k more LSU fans in attendance at a neutral site

If you would rather watch them play in Orlando than Doak Campbell. Yes you aren’t a college football fan.

Because the Dome has air conditioning.

I still don't understand why we get more money to play in New Orleans. Why can't you have the same sponsorships that are paying you to play in the superdome, pay you to play at home?
It makes zero sense to me.
It's the AllState kickoff game. Why can't Allstate be the sponsor for the game in Tiger Stadium? Why does it have to be in the Superdome?

Those opening week neutral site games are top priority of the television networks and bring in big money.

count your blessings. this game could have been in atl, houston, or jerry world.

reinforces our footprint in new orleans, and is easier for people/alums that live in other larger cities to fly to the game. They arent worried about small town folk.

Or.... maybe you have 85k more LSU fans in attendance when they come to Tiger Stadium.
Neutral site games are stupid in college football.
Under no circumstance do i want to play a traditional college team anywhere other than their stadium or ours.
If you want to schedule Tulane, or some other rinky dink school in the Superdome, fine.
Playing at Lambeau, while a great venue, was stupid. Camp Randall is an iconic venue as well, and we missed out on it.
We'll finally schedule Michigan one of these days and we'll play them in fricking Detroit or Chicago instead of the Big House. Every college football fans dream, to play Michigan for the first time in your 130 year existence in a dome in Detroit, while you make the trip the day before up to Ann Arbor to look at an empty Big House just to say you saw it.
