quote:

Smith told Rivals that he has a much better relationship with Pelini than he did with Aranda, saying “It’s definitely better than it was with coach Aranda because I had never really talked to coach Aranda on a personal level, but me and coach Pelini, well, he’s talked to my parents. I’ve met him in real life already. He’s a cool dude and more easier to talk to (than Aranda).”

Not a knock on CDA at all, but Bo is going to recruit out of his arse and bring back a fiery defense. I’m excited. Hope he is here for the long run.

I think he's a better fit for the Coach O culture.

They'll complement him if he wants to keep his job in the future.

I agree, he’s more personable. It’s crazy for me, because he has always been great to his kids but pretty tells anyone else to frick off.

He gets 100% from his players. CEO went out and got the best DC (maybe outside of CBV).

He saying he needs to recruit them and develop them to keep his job.

He’s taking a jab at OP’s spelling of compliment

This seems kind of obvious. I really liked Aranda but you could tell he probably struggled small talking recruits. I’m sure most defensive recruits like Pelini’s personality and tactical brutality.

Just personality differences. Aranda did a fine job the back half of 2020.

I’m excited, and I think the recruits are as well, that Bo will bring an attacking Defense.

I expect the D to compliment our utilization of the type of talent that LSU has.

Back in 58, 59, 60, and 61 era, opponents would liken our style of D as, “ a swarm of wild animals.”

I really Think Pelini is a great hire.

He’s coached some great defenses at LSU and Nebraska.

I think Aranda is pretty cerebral and was just never expected to recruit. Players loved him, but he wasn’t the top Of the spear in recruiting.

Can't lie, when he was announced I was kinda meh, but after looking harder at it and everything I've learned since about him, the fact we're going back to the 43(I didn't like that we didn't get interior penetration anymore) and didn't force turnovers... and statistically we really weren't much better than Chavis, if at all...im all in now, can't wait to see our D line causing havoc again. With the talent we have now in the secondary it's gonna be a lot of fun to watch

Here to hoping, but I really think this will probably be a short stint. People are beginning to realize he was shafted by Nebraska, and he’s a pretty good HC.

Def. Defense was dominant starting with the A&M game. Shut down everyone throughout SECCG and playoffs. Fromm, Hurts, Lawrence - elite QB's that looked terrible against us.

There’s no evidence of this.

However he’s an elite DC and I can’t wait to see what he puts on the field at LSU

Any season he had at Nebraska won at least as many games as Frosty the Moron has there

Would love to have had Divinity, White & #18 in Coach's P's attacking scheme. And fwiw, the last time I saw Coach was after the NCG when he was dancing on a table at POB's around 3:00 a.m. He had won the NC & was leaving the next day for Lincoln to become the HC, a double celebration.

He averaged 9 wins/season at a Nebraska program that is in the B10 vs. the Big 8 days of Osborne & Devaney.

To me, that’s evidence.

It was a bullshite narrative during the search that he was toxic with players.

I listened to Hester rave about him and how when as the DC he was supposed to be addressing the defense the room would stop and turn to get hyped by him pregame during his tenure.
