Look at the players, not the ranking

The 2020 class was a disaster

so we’re back to “stars don’t matter”? I think we see this year where “I trust our staff’s evaluations” gets you.

O was a great recruiter.

He could recruit them, but he couldn't keep them.

Stars matter. O recruited the wrong guys with 4+ stars.

Bad evaluations

We still have more talent than most teams we play. A defensive unit made up of all 2-3 stars could do better than our defense…I see it all day long watching CFB. I think it has more to do with scheme and coaching to be that bad defensively. They lack aggressiveness and don’t seem to play fast and with energy.

I think Kelly is willing to trade off talent for professionalism. In the NIL era, thats not going to work at all.

These kids are mercenaries, they dont care if they play for LSU or OSU.

What does that even mean? Look at the 2020 class. This is terrible.

Alex Adams
Ali Gaye
Antoine Sampah
Arik Gilbert
BJ Ojulari
Darren Evans
Dwight McGlothern
Elias Ricks
Eric Taylor
Jabril Cox
Jacobian Guillory
Jacquelin Roy
Jordan Toles
Josh White
Kavontre Bradford
Kayshon Boutte
Kole Taylor
Koy Moore
Liam Shanahan
Marcus Dumervil
Marlon Martinez
Max Johnson
Phillip Webb
TJ Finley
Xavier Hill

You’re the type of bozo to give credit for signing Arik Gilbert and say “oh look at the star rating”. The star rating doesn’t mean shite if he leaves after 1 year.

“He was an overreaction to coach O. We needed some professionalism put in place not at the expense of killing the energy of the program. “

Nailed it! Kelly definitely doesn’t present
The energy.

The portal is a bigger issue. We're bringing in FCS type talent for the most part.

No we aren’t.

I keep seeing this posted so I just did my research on 24/7.

We are now making shite up to defend this piss poor coach.

A number 4 ranked class is bad if it’s O but amazing if it’s BK. That’s the new rule for the board regulars apparently.

When you start with 38 scholarship players and you have to go to the transfer portal to start populating your DBs, RBs and starting QB, it's a challenge to say the very least.

Last night, one of the people I watched the game with who is a retired HS head coach said that a big problem right now in Louisiana and around the country is the receiver/DB set up. The receivers are getting taller, bigger and faster and the DB's are still the same .

Several of these guys are in the NFL and many that left were on BKs watch but are playing well at other schools. How does any of that support bad recruiting by O? You people are ridiculous.

Orgeron might have been good at recruiting specific targets, but he was terrible at picking the targets. He left us with 39 scholarship players. How is that maintaining the LSU standard?

Yeah, clearly he was up there with the best of the best with closing the deal with top talent on clear needs. Burrow, Chase, K'lavon Chaisson, etc., all claimed that something Orgeron did convinced them to come to LSU. So he could absolutely recruit.

But after the NC, although LSU still recruited some great players, the areas where we needed more depth, etc., were neglected. As the head of the program, he didn't know who to recruit (and he clearly wasn't as focused and was doing dumb shite after 2019) which led to numerous problems.

In the secondary alone in the last two classes they’ve gotten players in the portal from:

Ohio st
Arkansas
Arkansas
Oklahoma St
Ohio st
Syracuse
Texas A&M

i dont think you know what FCS means
