We have enough talent to beat anyone on our schedule. The D should be top 5 in the nation, and it's about fricking time we had a really good offense with all this talent. 9 would be ok, but 9+ is doable.

I agree that 9-3 would be a reasonable high mark for this team. I think 8-4 with Burrow is chalk. 7-5 with Burrow would be a disappointment.

Finishing 9-3 with a loaded team returning for the next year would have me very bullish about '19 season.

It depends on the landscape of the rest of the country.

My big thing is you have to make a run every 3-4 year period.

I understand there will be down years but you have to take advantage on the years that you can. Which is why losing to Troy and State last year hurts so bad.

That schedule was fuching trash and LSU could have played for the SEC title if they beat State and Troy.

I don’t think you can put an exact record on it. It’s more how the games are won and lost.

A 9-3 record where we are blown out by Bama, UGA, and Auburn isn’t good enough in my book.

A 9-3 record where we are in all those games with a chance to win would be a successful season to me. It shows that the team is right there with the best of them talent wise.

Also a 9-3 record where we beat UGA but lose to Florida or State would be a mixed bag for me.

I do believe anything better than 9-3 is a good season and 9-3 could be considered good depending on how the games play out.

IMO...With this LSU team and this schedule, 9-3 followed by a bowl win would be a successful season.

10-2 is a good season, 9-3 is more expected.

This team is not expected to go 9-3. They might...but that is not the chalk number.

10 wins without the bowl. I have been very vocal against 0, but as long as we win at a high clip I don't care who the coach is.

Well at some point he needs to show improvement, so 10-2 would be the mark for me. I have 3 losses etched in stone. He does better than that no one should complain.

I agree, 10 wins at least, including whatever postseason game. That's the floor given the talent on this team, and coaches such as Jimbo, Mullen, and even Gus would have no trouble doing it with team.

Jimmie Johnson has said LSU should NEVER win less than 10 games a year, so I'll go with that.

He needs to start winning games now that he has some depth. It's not exactly where we want it to be but its good enough to make the most of it. 9-3 with a bowl win is successful IMO. Anything better is great. He really does need to beat either Bama or GA or both as well as a good season record wise.

If this team can focus on getting TOs on defense, playing good STs and scoring 6 when in the RZ, we honestly should beat anyone on the schedule. Maybe throw in a mishap game where we just don't play our best. So 2 loses could happen. If the veteran players or leaders can get into the spirit of these younger guys then this team can be very good.

Have to uphold our winning tradition and play with pride. We also can't have a game where we are beat by the small school or dominated in historical fashion. Even though I think those two games awoke this team. I also think that carries over into this season. I heard it was truly one of the best springs for the defense since Aranda was here.

Anything less than 10 wins and a major bowl is a failure. It’s ridiculous to conclude otherwise. Miles was fired for less. The standard didn’t change or lessen when he was terminated and O knew the standard when he interviewed for the job.

You realize why the odds makers have us at 6-6 or 7-5 right? It’s because they have no faith in our staff. We have Top 10 talent. If Jimbo or Herman were the coach, we would be projected at 9+ wins.

Don’t give O credit for exceeding low expectations that result from his existence as the head coach.

We have a really challenged fan base.

The standard hasn't gone anywhere. Miles was here for over a decade and the standard fell with him so Orgeron will be given his own chance to pick that standard back up and that takes time.

Next year and the year after is when O will truly be judged like Les Miles. At that point there really will be no excuses bc it will be all his doing and that's plenty of time for him to build up the depth across the board.

Picked 4th in sec west.

Miami is higher ranked and with good reason.

No proven qb

10-3 is very good season.
11 wins great.
12 fabulous
13 or more, give aranda a raise

Sorry was there ever a better 10 year period in LSU history?

Saying Les lowered the standard while setting the standard hire than you currently are setting it for O is fricking Laughable.

The man won 10+ games 7 out of 10 seasons he coached a full schedule. He also won 9 games in a 11 game season with McNeese getting canceled.

Saying Les lowered the standard to the point where O needs to raise it from
9-4 is a joke.

We'll see what the odds makers say after this season and I agree that 8-4 will be a disappointment even with a bowl win and with this schedule. He needs to improve and show that he can out coach another ranked teams coach when it counts and the pressure is turned up.

He needs to show everyone that he can do this at a high level.
