Take away the flaming pile of dog poop that was the 2020 season, which in many ways was ignited by the pandemic and political unrest causing shite culture, and this would have happened but not as quickly.
There would have always been poor decisions made and ineptness to succeed at a job this large by Ed, it just happened really fast dt circumstance

Because LSU hired a guy who's ceiling was always going to be being a position coach.
Seems to be a great guy, but he's a career staff coach, not a guy that will excel in the CEO seat.

1. Dave wasn't turning down the Baylor deal and we can't blame him for that.
2. Brady wasn't going to turn down a NFL OC job no matter what was offered.
3. Actually interviewing DC's instead of just hiring Bo.
4. Actually going out and hiring a OC instead of having Slinger just stay.
If we hire good replacements we still probably lose a few games last year, but we don't lose to State, Mizzou and Aggie. Auburn probably takes us either way and so does Bama.
We lost alot of talent from 19 so some drop off was expected and even 7-3 would have been ok. Our issue was we lost talented coaches as well and replaced them with a clown arse and bringing in Scott Lineahan was stupid as well. Slinger was ok, but we should have brought in another Joe Brady type.
Then O compounded his bad hires by deciding to lose focus off the field.

As for our 2020 coordinator hires, I think a lot of Peetz’s stank arse play calling would be masked while he gains experience if we could run the ball. As for our DC, nothing good should be expected when you’re the 4th choice.
LSU was competing with other big time programs for the top DC names out there. We lost. To me that is as intriguing as the hire itself. How and why did that happen? Could be timing, could be for reasons that had nothing to do with money, job security concerns maybe, who knows?

Give Aranda whatever he wanted including getting the hell out of his way and letting him run the defense.

1. Coach O definitely deserved a 7mil bonus for 2019. But that contact extension and buy out was terrible.
