6.5 because he's nOt bIllY NaPieR...
Too soon...?
I say a solid 8 mainly due to Special Teams play, though I understand - outside of the specialists, you're not spending a large portion of your precious, limited practice time on ST work. As a result, it's one of the places that the relative youth of the team shows itself - but expecting SOME improvement is not unreasonable.
Time will tell, but IMO CBK has the potential to be the best football coach in LSU history. (that would've been Saban if he hadn't been lured by the NFL) I'm trying hard to not be overoptimistic, but logic bears it out - what he's accomplished in a short time at LSU tells the analytical observer that this man has a process and a program he is implementing with laser focus. He is unencumbered by "LSU history," and, outside of [poorly] affecting a southern accent when he first arrived, has demonstrated that he does not care at all what people think of him. Frankly, I believe the man came to LSU to win against the best while Riley ran away from the SEC - I am convinced he is determined to beat Saban twice, maybe even three times in a row before Saban retires.
My factual evidence: ND's collapse in his absence, the continued incremental improvement (outside ST) that shows that his process/ program is being adopted and bought into week-by-week, the temporary victories of the recruiting cycle, and players are developing.
These process-driven rather than results-driven guys are rare, (name one other than Bellichick and Saban...) and I am impressed that LSU landed one.
I am very optimistic, and I think a 2023 SECCG appearance next season is a distinct possibility, and vying for a NC season-in and season-out beginning in 2024 is likely not just my hope as a fan but quite possibly is this man's personal goal.
I wonder if he has a binder somewhwere...?

Solid 8
He would have gotten higher except for special teams.

6.5 to 7 - Would be higher but we still have to see some consistency. Has he really learned his lessons or will he revert back to staid and conservative.

What is hilarious is if this question was asked last week, most of the answers would have been around 5 the way people were complaining about the QB situation.

I like the guy but to say Miles and O were incompetent is the Dumbest shite I ever heard ! Did O get incompetent after NC yes, did Miles eat grass and have issues with Clocks, Hell Yeah ! But they both had a good run until they didn’t. I don’t understand how you can down coaches that won a NC and Miles should have had 2

9 easily
He's made the best of an absolute shite situation with this team's roster and culture that he walked into.

I say 6-7
The only way I would have been disappointed with this season is some sort of 4-8 disaster type of season, and that hasn’t and isn’t happening. He took over a pile of shite and has it competing. Maybe not to championship level but he’s got it competing. Regardless of how the season plays out I think we’re on the right track.

7, but trending upward
Haven't been super impressed with some of the coaching hires and preparation (esp Tenn). Recruiting is still kinda TBD. But I really appreciate how it seems like he has a plan and a process and sticks to it.
Special Teams is kinda unacceptable. A program like this, with the caliber of athletes we have, should never have a unit this bad.

6. Still want to see more. Hopefully the offense last week wasn’t a fluke. If it continues, I go up to a 9.

8. Going through the portal to piece together a competitive team that continues to improve.

7 - Completely outcoached vs FSU and Tennessee

I'm going 7.5 for now. Ole Miss may change that. Want to see improvement in ST. That will get me to 8-9.
