Guilty as charged. Still doesn’t signify he would not have worked here, but I am glad that O has done as well as he has and I am really happy for him as a native Louisianan.

It’s easy to say he was a bad hire now. The rant was beating the war drums for him back then.

I wasn't in that rhythm section, typical knee jerk, instant gratification, impulse of having to get the newest "toy," even though that toy didn't have much of a body of work, couple of flashy years in a very weak conference, but because of that mindset he was able to parlay that into a pretty good nest egg, what is his gtfo money? $25mil

I did but when his agent pulled the bait and switch I said frick dem! After Fisher and Herman I was OK with Ed as there was not another big fish out there to be had at the time and I felt that Ed could keep the program afloat.

Please no, LSU dodged a serious bullet with Herman. Don’t need him now either

He is the best OC currently not employed by a school.

I fail to see what the issue is.

He will go to a smaller school and do well.

He will be on the big school market again like kiffin did.

LSU can pay him $1 mil to be OC here 2-3 years which will get him back to a P5 job faster than goin to some Sun Belt or CUSA school

Same. He seemed like the best up and coming coach at the time.

Wasn't my top pick for coach, but definitely would have taken him over Ed....

However, Texas is a massive problem as a program, not sure any coach will be successful there post Mack with both the expectations, the pressure and the organization.

I still think Herman is a solid coach just needs the right situation. Not sure if he would have sunk here in the same way he sunk at Texas.

I would have supported whoever LSU hired, because I support LSU and all our sports programs. I liked Herman, but figured he was dealing to get the UT job.

I also was excited for O, and hoped he would do a good job. As it turns out, he damn sure has. He wasn't great this year, but it was a weird year. He gets a mulligan.
