Kendall Rogers picks Ethan Petry over Crews for SEC Player of the Year..

I said on here last week or so that there’s a very real chance Crews wins the Golden Spikes Award, but not the SEC POY. Petry and Cags from Florida have both been unreal themselves, but with more of the sexy counting numbers. I think Petry has 13 homers in SEC play and Cags can’t be too far behind. I think Petry’s hitting close to .450 himself. Crews is better, but not having a “roll your eyes” better SEC season to where there’s no argument for Petry. I wouldn’t make it, but there is one.

Of course last week we were 6th in the SEC standings and Crews was stuck on 9 home runs. I think Saturday was big for him as far as awards go. Not just because of the home runs, but because that game was on national tv. Crews is the best college player I’ve ever seen—not sure it’s particularly close—but as ridiculous as his numbers are, I think you actually need to see him to get a true appreciation for just how good he is. He’s even better than his numbers, which is insane.

Kendall only does stuff like to get under our skin. He’s knows crews is going to be the sec player of the year and the golden spikes winner. Crews might have 25 homers if he got pitched to more than once a game. Ole miss tried and he burned them on national tv

Is that the dude that ran a third world streaming website earlier in the year? He seems to be a rocket scientist…

Aaron sure. Bregman wasn’t anything that special here. Really good yes. But not at that level. Had some pretty ugly slumps too.

Crews can go 0 for his next 80 and still be batting .306

I think he will be undisputed no matter a Championship or not.
It’s a Team sport can’t put it all on his head so saying all that it doesn’t matter.

He is the best ever to suit up in a Baseball uniform at LSU, and might even be the best in the History of the College game.
Debatable yes, but he is in the Top 5-10 for discussion purposes no doubt.

Yea, I did a stats comparison of Crews and Petry earlier, not particularly close. The only edge Petry has is HRs(20 vs 11), and RBI(64 to 44). Everything else is Crews:

Rs - 66 to 41
OBP - .643 to .494
OPS - 1.503 to 1.389(despite having 9 less HRs)
AVG - .496 to .427(69 points in batting avg is a lot)
Crews - 44 BBs to only 19 Ks
Petry - 16 BBs to 35 Ks

Not to mention Crews plays a premium position in CF and plays it at an elite level(1.000 fielding percentage). Petry's fielding percentage is .970.

I'm ready to say it. Crews is the best all around position player we have ever had at LSU.

I find it tough to compare pitchers to position players. But when you look at five tool players who have come through here, he is overall number 1.

I have seen a lot of LSU baseball in my time. Been going to games for 36 years. He is without a doubt the best. I told my 15 yr old son to enjoy this last season watching him as a tiger because the Dylan Crews of the world don't come around very often.

I love Shaq but if we're talking the best Chris Jackson was that guy and Fournette couldn't get 20 yards vs bama while clyde got 4 td's vs bama's best team. Just saying.

Please, you cannot put Fournette in the same sentence as Shaq and Burrow.

I like the guy, but no shot.

Blame Les Miles dumbass offense not Fournette. Put him on that 2019 team and he probably gets his TD’s.

Shaq is the most dominant basketball player to play in the SEC in the last 40 years.

In His prime in the NBA 2001-2006 NBA teams had 2-3 big bodies just to foul him to try and slow him down. He is the best big man to ever play IMO.
