QUESTION re: POTENTIAL 2 HOUR DELAY ENTERING THE DOME....

I have spoken to several friends that attended the BAMA/LSU game this year, and they all say that due to the President attending that game, the Secret Service was required to take over game security which was a significantly more thorough than for a typical game. Consequently, they all have said there was a roughly two hour delay getting into Bryant-Denny that day...
Considering that it has been announced that the President will be attending the National Championship on Monday, has anybody heard anything about the projected delay that can be expected for fans to get into the Dome on Monday Night, and/or any suggestion as to what time they suggest that we should start trying to get the the entry gates?

I'd imagine they're going to be extra vigilant due to the current tensions with Iran. Good luck getting into the game. Bring a bottle to pee in while standing in line.

It took about as long as I would expect to get into a #1 vs. #2 game back in November in Tuscaloosa. It really wasn't THAT much worse than normal. I got to the gate about an hour and a half before kick.
Now, if you don't plan accordingly and try to show up to the gates 15 mins before the game, well then yeah you may be in trouble.

The Secret Service even went through my wallet. WTF? Dropped one of my credit cards I almost didn't notice.

I thought things ran pretty smoothly in Tuscaloosa. However, originally secret service was only planning to bring half of the metal detectors that they ended up bringing. The AD told them they should increase the number and fortunately they did.
I know in 17 when he came to the championship it was a cluster, but MBS doesn't have as many entries as other venues. The main thing is you definitely want to be in before he arrives, which should be doable. Once he arrives, everything shuts down until he's in.

The way Bama did it was retarded, in the LSU entrance they were trying to funnel everyone into 2 security checks. Waited 45 minutes and barely moved, finally a buddy went to piss and there were like 15 gates right on the other side that had 10 people in line so we used those. The funnel of people to the 2 security checks was so big that everyone assumed you had to go there.

Make sure you bring a towel or t shirt to wrap around your head in case it gets cold while waiting in line.
Also, the snack bars at the Superdome are great.

THIS. The President arrived late to the BAMA game on purpose so that his arrival didnt slow down the fans getting in before the game.
That said- I think the fact that the Superdome is already used to the NFL policy and metal detectors, it shouldnt be much of an issue. Other than the added secret service rum edging through your stuff, I dont think it will be much different than a saints game.
If the game kicks at 7:15, you should be in line for 5-5:15. Its the National Championship- get in there early and enjoy it, It doesnt happen often!

We lined up 2 hours before kickoff in Tuscaloosa and it took us an hour to get into the stadium. I also had no problem getting my whiskey in but my wife got patted down more than I did.

There was about a 15 minute delay getting into the Bama game when Trump showed up. Nothing like two hours, so your friends are just shooting their mouths off.
