t’s all about perspective.

If you’re over age 40, the 2003 championship was probably more enjoyable than the 2019 season since you were younger and it was the first title since 1958.

If you’re under 25, the 2019 championship is probably more enjoyable than anything else, especially since you’re still young and just experienced that championship not even 3 years ago.

This! That 2003 run was magical for me.

I'm 39. Less passionate. Realized there are more important things in life.

I would rather be at my kid's sporting event than watching an LSU game.

Broke a lamp cheering for LSU and Don Redden (RIP) in their 1986 Final Four Run.

Do you have the same passion for the tigers as when you were younger. Maybe mis phrased that. Do you let your emotions get to like when you were younger over a game.

I remember getting kicked out of the house in El Paso when it was 115 degrees outside during the Jamie Howard fiasco. Wife saved the tv. I really get into it when I was young. Don't know how I survived during the blue grass miracle. Didn't know at the time I had a defective heart.

I tried watching live the past few years, but blood pressure through the roof. Have to dvr games and go with the flow.

Been following LSU for 40 yrs now since I moved to LA. I still get tense for real game situations but not so much for the hype and BS around the games. I also have learned a couple rules for myself.

1. Dont get too bummed about a bad game and dont shite on players unless they are a public dickweed.

2. Treasure the highs. There will be more but you dont know when they are coming.

I also DVR games but really just to get rid of the commercials. I DVR all basketball games and see who won before I watch. Keeps the nerves down and I just have no interest in watching losses...

I started appreciating the Tigers while listening to them on the radio with my Father in law & my wife's uncle with a bottle of whiskey around the kitchen table. I enjoyed every nattie, even 58 but for a different reason, it was like the whole of McComb MS had turned into a circus with 4x8 signs in just about every other yard from there to Baton Rouge which amazed a 5yo! As far as living vicariously through the games I did for awhile and would be in a funk for a week or two, now I just stay off tRant for a few day's and it's all good!

You might remember the DC in that game, my good friend Phil Bennett.

Some might remember Phil, he was from Marshall, Tx. Whenever I’d see Odell Beckham, Sr. I’d tell him he was the third best player to come out of Marshall. Y.A. Tittle was number one, then Phil, then OBS. Looks like Phils going to retire, here’s a quote from my good friend.

Quote of the year from North Texas interim coach Phil

Bennett talking about his wife and whether this is his final game before retirement"

"She told me the other day she's going to have a man sleeping in her house next year, and if it was going to be me I better show up."

No, man. 2019 was spectacular. 2003 was way more unexpected though. I honestly never thought I'd see an LSU football natty. I was too young to have experienced the first (born in 62).

My ability to roll with the punches has gotten way better as I have gotten older. This place actually gets my blood pressure up more than the actual games

I'm 63. Is that old or semi-old? Low point? The double overtime loss to Arkansas. I was one bitter semi-old guy that night. Luckily we had everything fall into place and we wound up with a championship. High point? Any victory against Ole Miss. Passion just as strong as when I was a youngster.

Have not missed a game either in person, tv or radio since. Who can break that record? I bet someone can.

I wouldn't call listening to a game on the radio "not missing a game". In person is not missing a game. I have season tickets and I certainly have missed games even if I watched it on TV.
For the guy who holds a record, I think that would be Mike Serio of serios deli in New Orleans. He hasn't missed a game (in person), home or away in something like 20 years? Maybe more. Call the deli, ask for him. He will give you the exact number. Be prepared to talk awhile though!

As for the question, I’m more mellowed, a loss doesn’t affect me anymore. I went to the SEC Championship game this year knowing it was going to be a loss. That and to piss off a few of the UGA Fans. They are way too easy. I know more about their football history than 90% of their fans.

Only get mad when we lose to A&M and fumble away our season. That was my final tantrum. I’m over it. Like forever. They’re just kids.

At basically 40 I don’t get worked up. I think it was the Auburn game this year I did get pretty frustrated with some very bad football.

I was yelling or cussing just not in best mood. Which usually I just turn the channel.

I'm 60. My passion is just as high but I don't let the losses affect me the way I did when I was younger. Maybe because I don't get as drunk as I did when I was younger.

I still tend to jump to my feet for great plays and yell at the TV for mistakes and stupid plays. But, losses don't eat at me. I can still fall to sleep like a baby following even a disappointing loss.

I'm 67. In my younger days I lived and breathed LSU 24/7. I had season tickets from 2003-2016 but gave them up after deciding it was easier to watch the games on the big screen at the house.
The last couple of years have tested me. The transfer portal and NIL have pretty much turned me off. There is no more loyalty to a school. It's all about money the the "me" factor.
I still follow LSU every week in all sports, but my days of obsessing over them are gone. Happy for a win and just shrug my shoulders after a loss.

I'm 73 and still enjoy tailgating and the passion for the games. I admit that I sometimes leave early as it is a long drive and I am often on my own but I brought one of my sons to the Bama game this year and was fighting back tears. He thanked me mutiple times for inviting him to be there for that epic contest. Those kind of events make it all worthwhile!!

Simple answer. No. I want LSU to win, but I realize its just a game and life is more important.

Old fart here - yes, I still have the same passion as I always have had. But, my days of tailgating all day are over.
That being said, 2019 was the icing on the cake of 60+ years of being a fan.
For the last few years, I debate whether I will renew for another year, but I always do.
I have a similar passion for the other sports as well.
