I am sure no one knows the answer to this but did the NCAA force LSU to have a meeting with them being apart of it? Or did LSU actually voluntarily invite them? The answer to this is really important IMO.

Has the NCAA forced Arizona and Kansas to meet with them yet?

How can they? There is no investigation.

Its pretty clear by the reports that we invited them to trap Wade and give the BOS a reason to fire with cause.

Not sure if anyone really knows. A lot of people speculate that our compliance department contacted the NCAA.

I don't know the answer, but I willing to bet this was all LSU's request.

Impossible to know the answer to this. They could have had a meeting with the universities with public not knowing.

LSU’s compliance department invited them. They’re looking for any reason to throw Will Wade out. Plain and Simple

Yes it is, but either way, LSU still wanted Wade there without his legal counsel, right?

If that is the case then I hope Wade does end up at Bama and becomes Sabans equal over there. Only a fool would believe that the higher ups at LSU didn’t know what was going on the whole time. Hell we knew it so how couldn’t they have known?

Well, they're looking for a reason to fire him for cause it appears. If not it makes no sense that they wanted him there without his attorney.

Bingo.

The idea that the schools are victims is preposterous.

If it turns out there is provable NCAA violations that had been brought to attention of the compliance department and they did not contact the NCAA that in itself is another NCAA violation. They may know more than we do, or they are just acting with a abundance of caution to get ahead of the situation with the NCAA. Either way there is nothing wrong with what they did, and it should not coma as a suprise.

well I've got a reason - he's on tape, twice, offering to pay players. That's kind of a big no-no.

I can not imagine that LSU did not contact the NCAA.

I am fairly sure that this is the protocol for dealing with any possible major NCAA rules violation that come to the attention of the AD/compliance department.

Since, no argument at all can be made that Wade's leaked tape -- accurate or not, verifiable or not, explainable or not, completely fake or not -- does call to the attention of the compliance department a possible major NCAA violation since just claiming to have made the offer is a major violation.

This is what every program always does (or is supposed to do) in any case where there is reason to believe major infractions may have occurred. It is simply dotting the i's and crossing the t's to avoid a potential Loss of Institutional Control charge.

Perhaps instead of conjecture someone who knows more than me about the actual violation reporting protocol can post the exact protocol rules?

One can certainly argue whether there was some way to postpone / avoid suspending Wade.

However, everything I have ever read would suggest LSU compliance had no choice but to report to the NCAA that they were conducting an investigation and I am relatively sure the NCAA also provides initial feedback. (I know news reports were that Auburn and Alabama players named in the slightly different bribing case last year all sat out while waiting to hear NCAA's response to compliance's initial investigation.)
