Seems well put together, just based off of what we've heard so far. A couple of notes just from my own brain:

I'm not sold on Cox as a starting linebacker. I think Brooks/Clark/Baskerville are our best 3, but the positional fit is a little awkward. I'm sure Pelini will get that figured out.

Everything we've heard so far does point to Bradford at RG, but once they get into camp are practicing with pads, I think Kardell could push for that spot.

The same can be said of Mo Hampton, who I think could push Harris to start at FS. Regardless, Hampton will definitely see the field this year.

I feel confident Ricks will jump Jay Ward and Raydar Jones. I'm a big believer in Cordale Flott, but I honestly think Flott vs Ricks will be the biggest position battle to watch out for during camp. Ricks is special.

I just can’t see Baskerville playing over Cox. He’s never really shown anything. Cox is battle tested & it would be extremely disappointing if he isn’t good enough to start on a unit that just lost 3 LBs to the draft.

Hampton has been hurt, but I agree. He will play a bunch when things settle.

I just haven’t seen enough of those 2 guys to say that but I wouldn’t be shocked.

Baskerville originally played over Clark and other LBs as a true freshman in 2018. Clark definitely passed him last year as D.Clark got on the field in meaningful minutes against Clemson in the national championship. I think Clark is 2020 version of Patrick Queen. I’m not saying he’ll be a 1st round pick or have the numbers since we aren’t staying with the 3-4, but I think he’ll be our best LB.

Cox is a 2 time all American

Pelini knows him from playing against him.

Would have been a top 100 pick in the draft many people said

In 3yrs

254 tackles
14 sacks
31.5 tfl

3 national championships

I just don’t think Baskerville beats him out

Still think it's nothing short of a miracle Orgeron got this guy to come here.

Baskerville was in a tough spot last we saw him as a Freshman at Florida. Not going to say he was a big reason the game was lost, but they ran right at him. He had a few flashes that game, so i am not writing him off. But I just think Cox is too good to supplant.

Which WR takes over in the slot? Palmer? Jontre? Boutte is a really exciting player but just a freshman.

I think if you want to get your 3 best WRs on the field, and optimize their talents, Chase will the most slot reps

Other guys are more of outside WRs, talking Marshall & McMath

Chase most versatile & will eat at either spot.

I don’t get why Ensminger didn’t fix the WR personnel in 2018. That’s what worries me about 2020. Brady shows up in 2019, takes over the WR room and Jefferson goes to slot and we put the best people on the field at the skill positions. Really hope we don’t get a return of that crap in 2020 like we saw in 2018 where J.Giles and D.Dillon were the only people to rotate in the slot and Chase, Marshall, and Jefferson were purely outside receivers.

My guess is McMath is the other starter unless the smaller guys show a lot of physicality or better route running.

I mean I know why. He also had CEH backing up Brossette in 18’ which is another atrocity.

But hopefully he’s learned a thing or two from Brady about playing the best guys. If that means a younger player is better than an older player, so be it.

Did you hear something that I missed to project Davis-Price, Emery, and then Curry as the rotation at RB?

I remember linehan saying something like it was going to be committee (which doesn't necessarily instill confidence). Maybe that is what you are going off of?

Based on Oklahoma game Curry is much further along that I thought he would ever be. And I'd think he'd be "starter."

Not really arguing with your chart though. I think general consensus is Emery is the most talented followed closely by Davis Price and then Curry.. But we all put CEH last on the depth chart for 2019 too.

The depth chart for 14 weeks went

TDP
Emery
Curry

I think burrow pushed for curry vs OU. He did fine but I take more stock in those 14 weeks as to who the best backs really were.

Why would burrow push for curry?
I didn't see him talk or associate with him all year

Didn't you say curry would be a fullback?

I think it went like "Chris curry, lsu s next fullback"
Always trying to predict shite but getting it ohh so wrong

Jimbo abused him in the 7 OT game when Phillips got ejected for targeting and we had to turn to Micah.

There were some ugly spots in mop up duty last year where he looked bad...out of position, lacking awareness and anticipation.

He had better improve quite a bit if he sees the field at LSU

Don’t expect Chase to play in slot much. Ensminger was quoted as saying one of the main objectives in preseason will be to find a slot receiver to take over for Jefferson so teams can’t double team Chase as much.

We shall see.

I think Roy is as DE in a 4-3. Farrell also but both could play inside or outside. I'm predicting a 2 deep something like this:

SDE: Farrell, Roy
NT: Shelvin, Ika
DT: Logan, Guillory
WDE: Thomas, McClendon, Anthony

We have heard all the off-season chatter but I think this is the Dline we see most when we start playing.

I think you see Farrell more in the middle....Cherry has the size for a 4-3 d end, haven’t heard much about him though just with comments
