I'd like to see a count here to confirm my theory, but it seems there is a distinctive split in tRant on what to do with Coach O. Seems like the Miles lovers (formerly Positigers) now have latched onto O, and the Negatigers (formerly Miles haters) have want anything but O

Check in here with whether you wanted Miles to go and if you want to make O the next HC

Coaching board

Can we at least see how he does against Ole Miss and Bama first.

wanted Miles gone

If CEO can go 5-1 and keep this energy around the program, I say keep him

I've been a Miles supporter forever. I wanted to keep him after last season, but I realized it was time for him to go after the Wisconsin game.

If Coach O does really well (wins out, or maybe if he only loses one game) I'm of the opinion that we should keep him.

I don't understand how anyone could have already made up their mind about this situation. The man has won one game.

I'm undecided until the season is over.

Negatigers were not upset about Miles, Cameron, or any coach. They are just ppl who have been infected with the virus that will eventually turn them into zombies.

if LSU plays great the rest of the year I have no problem with it. My theory is hell look what CLM was able to do and I believe many can do better.

If the new coach is Herman, Petrino, or Petersen keep coach O as DL coach and recruiting coordinator and pay him well.

This isn't about Herman or Fisher. It's about the relationship of different fans to Miles and O. Current and previous coaches. How positigers and Negatigers feel about the two is definitely a Tiger Rant topic, not a Coaching board topic, which is coaches we want or coaches hired by other programs

He's coached one game against the worst SEC opponent on our schedule. Anyone already pushing him for head coach or completely counting him out is stupid.

I was definitely NOT Pro-Miles. but I am fairly Pro-O.

I hope he does well and earns the Job, but I'm not ready to sign him up, yet.

Orgeron is auditioning for the job. Let's see how he does before making a decision on that.

That's the thing no one could have possibly totally made up their mind. So for from what we've seen its been great and he's trending to staying. Now that could change in a nano second if things go south. I don't see it happening though. Will he lose a game probably but I think he will keep us in every game and LSU will have a chance to win it at the end with a well coached, well planned game for the rest of the year. I'm just confident that he will get these guys prepared each week and have something specific for each opponent. That's what you need, not the same ole routine for every opponent. I feel for southern miss. Wrong place wrong time to catch the Tigers. They are ready for war and will come out firing. Man will I love to see it again. I had fun watching the Missouri game and haven't had fun watching a game in a very long time. Couldn't stand the way coach miles would slow play every game no matter the opponent. Anyway GO TIGERS!

Coach O will get the permanent job, we will finish no worse than 8-3 and realize the best man for the job is already on payroll.

Wanted Miles to change into a manager of his staff.
Want O to stay because he manages his staff

First...hate the terms. Always thought they were stupid as shite.

I was a guy who defended Miles from day one from what I saw to be wildly unfounded attacks. I continued that long after I otherwise would have because many of the same assholes that wanted him fired after TENN in 2005 were STILL harping years later...as if they had "called it." So...I'm whatever that is.

As for Orgeron, I support him now but do not wish for him to be the next LSU head coach. If we jettisoned Miles because we wanted better, then I think we need to go out and find that. Now's the time to REALLY get the man you want.

And yet...if LSU turns around and hires O, I'll be in his camp...because he'll be the HC at LSU.

actually you can

I think LSU has to, or at least should, hire someone that has proven capable of actually running a program

O has not shown that. He has shown to be a great motivator, but has not shown that he can run a program.

Could he? Maybe. But you don't fire Miles to promote your DL coach that only real HC experience was a massive failure.

This is such an imaginary and simplistic faux-controversy.
It exists only in your mind.
