True. And right near that same time Poa tried to throw it between 4 arms of Bama defenders to get the ball to Reese and it got stolen.

Y’all. We need both of them. I don’t care who starts, but Poa should be playing point 80% of the game.

Had a great game and looks like she is gaining confidence in her own ability. We will need everyone to play a role to repeat.

Poa was great today, van Lith was great last week. Mulkey does a good job of moving her players in and out depending on their opponents. Poa looked good at point today.

We need all 7 of the girls in the rotation. How many minutes for Poa/HVL might differ based on the game and game situation.

Need em both. Not sure what Kim said at half but that was a different team that came out in the second half and it wasn’t just Apia. Everybody got a glimpse of what this team can do if they decide to play.

They actually made their layups also which was refreshing. That shite is hard to watch sometimes.

Poa played great in the second half today, and was a difference maker, but that has not been the case all season long.

But has she played for that long without being substituted for this season? Sometimes it takes more than three or four minutes of intermittent playing to hit your stride. I believe her performance today was a big confidence builder for her and might have solidified her as #1 pg.

I agree, but the major problem is, Poa can’t handle the ball well enough to
go up against a really good defensive point guard. She barely played against
SC because she couldn’t get the ball upcourt without it getting stole. That caused
a huge problem with tour rotation that game and we definitely ran out of gas.
We need Poa playing well so we can have a guard rotation.

Nah. I like that Poa played well and think they should both get pt. The hate for Van Lith is our expert fans expecting perfection.

I agree, but HVL still needs to be out on the court as the shooting guard.

As you stated in your post this causes a real dropoff offensively and in the running of the offense. The defense is probably a push as Poa nor Van Lith are that good defensively at the point. With that said our offense requires a point guard that can run the offense through Reese and Morrow and allow them to get to the bucket and get buckets, fouls, or kick outs to shooters.

Poa has not shown the ability to do that prior to the 2nd half yesterday.

It's not about starting it's about match ups. Also......maybe Poa actually needs to sit and process the game before she gets put in. The coaches know what they're doing, and having HVL play both 1 and 2 is a big deal for what defense the other teams play. Our pace of play is tough for other teams as well, and bringing in Poa sliding over HVL is a great way to get more match up issues. You want the experienced players on the court in big games.

Yes she has. Do you not recall that Van Lith missed 3-4 games in December?

Once again, Poa played great in the second half yesterday and deserves big credit for sparking the second half comeback. I agree with you that we hope this can be a huge confidence builder for her going forward. However, I would be hesitant to say HVL should be sent to the bench to only be used in spurts.
