I guess Ole Miss will sit Chambliss for out-of-state games based on your astute legal analysis of a state court ruling having no effect beyond the state borders. Chambliss was cleared to play by a Miss state court not a federal court.

I'd be on board with you if college athletes were still amateurs. NIL has basically made these guys professionals with extra steps. I see it almost like a minor and major league situation. They got invited to spring training, but they ain't quite ready to be in the big leagues yet, even though some of them are gonna get paid like they're in the show.

The beauty of this board is it gives us a place to discuss everything LSU, and provides tons of news, info, and solid discussion.

The down side of this board is it gives complete retards, like you, a place to put your stupidity on full display.

Federal courts don't get nvolved with possession, nor do they try cases based on drugs. They try drug dealers on RICO and tax fraud, money laundering, that sort of thing.

drug charges are tried at the state level.

ETA: not mention the biggest flaw in your logic: Mississippi courts over-ruling the NCAA. The Mississippi Supreme Court was the end of the NCAA's appeal process. Federal courts cannot get involved.

It's the same for Louisiana. The highest authority in this case is the Louisiana Supreme Court.

A federal case could only be brought forward if every other state ruling is challenged. The SEC has no grounds to challenge a Colorado court ruling.

So any games outside the state of Mississippi that Chambliss plays in are not valid contests?

Then why wasn't this loophole used by any team that lost to Vanderbilt last year outside of Tennessee?

The original ruling on this was by a Federal Judge in CO who ruled 2022 class players can have a 5th year. Then the Appeals Court issued a stay to the NCAA while the matter is being litigated. This is why the players are seeking injunctions in State Courts now.

Eventually this will all consolidate at the federal court where this was originally litigated. The TRO issued by that court was overturned on appeal and the case is in the early stages. when the case moves along past the questions of immediate eligibility, the action will be there. Right now it will stay all over creation.

Yeah, not how Law works at all!! With this logic Trinidad Chambliss would only be eligible in the State of Mississippi?

LSU would need a federal court to make the same ruling. As of now, it’s just a Louisiana judge making this ruling, which means only games in Louisiana would fall under this ruling.
Please know that Kat7611 is clueless.

Any PI is issued this week will be an injunction operating in personam. Named parties are relevant, geography is not. If a named defendant acts in a manner incompatible with the injunctions, the defendant(s) is subject to contempt of court proceedings. It doesn't matter if the defendants actions occurred in Louisiana, Alabama, Melbourne, Australia, or on Mars.

This is intellectual commentary. Don't expect the "minimum wagers" and high school dropouts on Tigerdroppings to understand .

Oh it’s not a pussy comment, it’s just completely wrong. I would love to know where you got this info that made you feel so confident about it.

I'm on the same side of the argument as those who hate the idea of former pro players being allowed to play. However, you are wrong on this. A contract entered into and deemed valid in Louisiana is enforceable and valid in all other states. The question is, is this a contract? Can the SEC or NCAA enact what the plaintiff claims are what amounts to arbitrary and discriminatory barriers to a specific class. Thus a TRO by a judge that in effect says this person can play in LA is enforceable in other places until such time as it becomes fully adjudicated or there is some legislation passed that would specifically address the issue
