Jerry Stovall needs a mention in this thread. The guy could do it all. On a non LSU related player, Reggie White played fullback for Howard High School in Chattanoooga, TN when I was there. Probably a scary site to have seen him running straight at you.

There really hasn't been anyone in college football like Bailey and Woodson until Daryl Stingley Jr came along
Dude, GTFO. Myles Jack was the PAC-12 Defensive Freshmman of the Year AND the Pac-12 Offensive freshman of the Ywar in 2013.

Its very rare you get a player that can play both ways and that is so much better than the others it makes sense he play botyh ways. Butkus and Jim Thorpe played both ways in the pros. The only ones I can think of in recent memory in college to pull it off are Champ Bailey and Charles Woodson.

Saw him on a run play, drive the CB about 8 yards back and put him on his arse, then peeled off and smashed the safety. Dude was a bruising, blocking wr.

Jarvis Landry
The way Jarvis played on kickoff coverage as a freshman, Lawd Have Mercy on the returner. Ya think he could have played one helluva strong safety

Charlie Mac played a lot of players on both sides of the ball, just not the same year. I know one h.s. teammate who played RB, TE and LB under Charlie. Different years

Y'all missing the most obvious one.
Brad Wing at S. He'd top Jamal Adams for most trash talking in the back 7.

Yeah Jack and Jackson were good two way performers.
But the point remains the same in that among the thousands upon thousands of players that have played college ball over the last twenty years, we have but a handful that played both ways.
My point is that players that can make a difference playing both ways are rare as hens teeth, but LSU has one such player in Stingley
Even with the strong group of receivers we have coming back, I think only Chase and Marshall might be better than Stingley at wr. Crazy as it sounds, Stingley could be as good as both. Stingley would be a great player in space. A wr receiver screen with Stingley could turn into a big play.

After growing up watching Trendon Holiday play in TD, I Have no doubt that Stingley/PP7 could do/have done the same with their athleticism. It's just a risk/reward gamble on the coaching staff
