Player who most improved from last year - One game impression

Phillips is an easy choice. Logan was disruptive as well. Delpit was good last year but he is next level this year. Great in both coverage and run support.

Several
On top of ones mentioned, Stevens looked like he will become a very athletic player.
Fulton looked good
Divinity will get more time with Chaison injury

Gotta go with Brossette. He didn’t even look like he belonged in the SEC last year and he looked pretty damn good against the #8 team in the country when we really needed him on Sunday

Logan, Brossette played better than expected.
Phillips just took the next step. Queen balled out too.
Surprised with Shelvin's lack of PT.
I thought Joseph was better than Fulton, which surprised me.
Of course, our kickers are night and dy compared to last year.

Brossette has had a short leash on him because of the level of RB's that were in front of him over the last 4 years. I think he scored more touchdowns than anyone else in LA high school history

Michael Divinity gets my vote.

Brossette is easily No. 1
Divinity is a close No. 2
Phillips understands the game No. 3

I know With modern medicine we expect player to come back 100% after a year but Really they say it takes about 2 years to be really 100% back.
Brosette looks like he is back to where he was before the injury.

To me, Brossette looked like the same runner he's been his entire time at LSU. The obvious difference is that he (a) held on to the football and (b) got more opportunity. But if you go back and look at some of his past highlights, the running style is the same.
Phillips on the other hand was everywhere. He flashed more than White (and that's hard to do). He went from a guy who was 2nd-3rd in the rotation last season to someone who (at least for one night) looked like an All-SEC LB.

The light went on for Philips. He was good last year, but he stepped up into legit superstardom this weekend. That was an unbelievable performance. White and Philips is an almost unfair duo in the middle.
I agree with Alt about Brossette. He got unfairly punished for his fumble against Troy and never could get out of the doghouse. He's always been a pretty good player, he just needed the chance. I'm impressed with the entire offensive line. OK, Willis destroyed them, but last year, Etling was running for his life most of the time. The line was wining the battle upfront, something they rarely did last year. We even converted a fourth down thanks to a surge up front. They were my biggest concern, and all of them answered the bell.

If Jacob Phillips can make plays like he did in Week 1, I'll feel much better about our LBs given we probably lost Chaisson for the season.

Brossette has gone a long way from being referred to as “third string RB” by his head coach.

Very similar to my thoughts.. Was very impressed with Phillips. Divinity also jumped off the screen, and Logan was very solid. Delpit was great, but I thought he already set the bar pretty high last year.
Brossette looks the same to me, just got more carries to show it. He’s not dynamic, and doesn’t have great feet, but he’s got some vision and can run hard through arm tackles. He’s definitely one that needs to get North/South pretty quickly. I think of an Alley Broussard or Labrandon Toedield type runner.

quote:Dude is an animal. He was everywhere and very disruptive. Possibly a viable candidate as a more well rounded replacement for Chaisson. Doesn't have that ridiculous speed rush that KC possesses, but he seems to be more versatile all around.
Michael Divinity gets my vote.

Brossette looks like a Senior RB; he has a good understanding of the offense with good vision, he's patient and waits for his holes.
He's not dynamic or "special" but he's got more speed and power than he get's credit for. Not sure I'd compare him to AB or Toefield, both were more physically gifted RB's IMO. I think a better comparison would be Ridley or Scott.
