The problem with Dabo Swinney is if he does great things here over 5 to 10 years. He will be ready to slide into a vacant job at Alabama when Saban finally retires. Me no likey

Saban coached here 5 years. If you can get Swinney here for 5-10, you take it and run with it.

At Alabama, Saban wasn’t successful early, but the school gave him everything he wanted without question or comment.

WTF?!?!?!?!

Saban went 12-2 his 2nd year and 14-0 his 3rd year with a National Title. What the hell are you talking about?

His first season was changing culture, getting rid of mal-contents and getting his type of players in the program. W/L record irrelevant.

Woodward is going big.
. So realistically who could this include? It sounds like it would be a current Power 5 coach, right?

The real star in Baton Rouge has always been the LSU job itself — the local talent so rich and the fan base so passionate that even Miles and Orgeron could overcome their coaching shortcomings and win at the highest levels.

This guy nailed it. 2 bumbling idiots win national championships and played for a third one.

An actual good coach could come in here bad go as good a run as any in college history outside of Saban

What would be funny is if he called Saban

It wouldn’t be funny it would be stupid.

Bama is his last job. Head almost 70 and will either retire in 2-3 more years or coach Bama till he does in the film room

LSU positions itself to save on a buyout of nearly $17 million

People keep talking about the buyout. I think that LSU will fire him for cause because of all the Title IX crap

Kind of like how you cut off my quote about him being too old and entrenched. Nice way of reiterating a point already acknowledged, slo mo.

Lol Moscona just called him out for plagiarizing basically everything he’s already stated.

Moscona has a monopoly on objectively obvious takes that everybody else thinks too

I hope Matt sues. He should. It’s obvious that Matt is the only one who has felt this way.

I’ve not heard or read it anywhere else. Ever

d LSU has reverted back to the program it was far too often before the magical 2019 season — offensively dysfunctional, poorly coached

this says it all.

There is no reason on this earth that we should not be able to hire the best of the best to coach here
The reason is LSU admin leadership and politics. Why do you think Nick Saban suddenly was seized with Miami Dolphins fever? Look at how stable he has been at Alabama. Coaching at LSU is like running across a live minefield. Saban saw the handwriting on the wall, and bailed. No first tier HC wants to touch this hot mess, or be touched by it.

Miles and Orgeron aren’t in the same sphere as the other title-winning coaches of this generation: Nick Saban, Urban Meyer or Dabo Swinney.

One of these doesn't belong .

Who's big though?

Saban? Not happening
Urban? doubtful
Dabo?

Those are really the Big 3 in college football. Who else is a marquis coach?

Lincoln Riley? Don't want and he wouldn't come.
Kirby Smart? Not coming.

Matt Campbell and Napier aren't that far apart imo.
Is Kiffen really going big? Not imo.

I think you can rule out guys like Urban and Freeze. We're firing one coach partly because he has questionable moral character. Not going to sign up those hypocrites.

Maybe Brian Kelly - he has baggage too though. But LSU needs a taskmaster imo. No more of this bullshite rah rah crap.

Why wouldn't you want Lincoln Riley to coach here? His track record with developing QBs and offensive talent is impeccable. His only weakness, imo, has been that he can't seem to get enough defensive studs to go there for whatever reason. He wouldn't have to worry about that at LSU

Im sorry, but we could run the ball and play good to great defense before. We are not the program we were before 2019.
