Stop trashing the kid. He is very talented and we should wish him well wherever he goes, besides if/when he faces us. This will become more normal. Prepare your brain for it. When you load the cupboards the way CBK will be, you will lose elite recruits that don’t beat out other very talented players. They will seek playing time elsewhere. The more graciously we treat these elite recruits on their way out, the better the culture is to continue bringing them in “to compete for the right to play for LSU.” Losing elite talent because they are buried on the depth chart is a symptom of a successful program. Get used it it!

I love how all the idiots feel like they need to make THEIR thread about this.

There is no thread that you can make that hasn't been made over 100 times by now.

Not single “elite” recruit gives a flying frick about what is said on this board or anywhere else.

Your opinion means nothing.

He's a quitter what do you expect!
Yeah, as long as the NCAA allows this dumb shite with no consequences or rules people have the right to trash them. His dream school? No it wasn't! If it was he would have stuck it out! Sad!

NO, losing elite talent period is terrible. LSU and other schools spend tons of money and time on these kids in recruiting. No matter what, it is wrong the way it is. NCAA has to get some rules and consequences for all this shite and start protecting the schools as well.

Are you also trashing the "quitters" who transferred into LSU from other schools?

I use to feel this way, but I'm tired of this crap. He earned some of the trashing. Some things should still be off limits.

Why should we wish him well for not even being at LSU a full year before leaving? Especially when he is considering rivals?

Absolutely not. I hope he sucks at any other SEC school. That is my hope for all opposing rivals. Why should he be any different? Because he left LSU after one season?

There is no benefit to a player leaving LSU and tearing it up. None. There is no spinning that. I hope he leaves and blows, so we don't have to think of what could have been.

I care more about LSU's success than a former player at another school succeeding. I care more about our fans being happy than seeing another school do well.

In the past I have tried to play nice with these players in hopes they may reconsider, but screw all that. It has never benefited us. Never.

He didn't even last a full year. That's pathetic.

They will seek playing time elsewhere.

Good and understandable. Doesn't mean I should wish them well for leaving this quickly. Especially a QB. That hurts much worse.

Has ZERO affect. And I mean ZERO. None. Playing nice to these losers who quit after one season has absolutely no impact on future recruits. It just makes us look pathetic.

The only "culture" that matters most is winning and putting players into the NFL.

Howard has now screwed LSU more than LSU screwed him. I don't wish him well. That would be horrible. Unless he returns to LSU at some point.

Not all situations are equal. And we are LSU fans, so we root for LSU players.

I believe some players even need a new start. Even after a season. However, there didn't seem to be any bad blood here and we are talking about a QB leaving a program less than an entire year in it. That hits differently. I doubt this is exactly common for a QB to understand he would RS and then ditch immediately after it.

Howard should do what he feels is best for him. And fans should root for what they feel is best for them.

Yup.

I was more excited about Howard than maybe any other recruit, ever, but this is really pathetic. Couldn't even wait 2 years to see what might happen. Couldn't even wait until Spring.

Only “Howard” I remember at LSU was a QB who had a knack for throwing Pick-6’s & we don't need nor want another like him!!

Bottom line is that Howard & his pops looked “UP” at JD & Nuss on the depth chart & it SCARED the shite outta them to the point of having to run away from the competition to a School that’s just gonna HAND him the QB1 spot. If he starts at another SEC school next year he will get DESTROYED!

I am sure that when LSU recruited him and he signed Brian Kelly did not disclose that he would be signing an upper class man qb who would push him down the depth chart and create a 3-4 year window before he could start.

So if anyone lied it is LSU and Brian Kelly and the kid relied on the the coaches and schools representations to his detriment.

The kid is making decisions based on the position LSU and Kelly put him in. Not the other way around.

It's absurd you think a recruit should be told by a coaching staff that they won't pursue anyone that will compete with his future playing time.

Please link where anyone at LSU told Howard they wouldn't recruit any qb's if he signs with LSU

Kiffin, if he goes to OM, will continue to recruit highschool and the transfer portal for qbs. WH isn't guaranteed to be a great qb in college. WH is coming off as an entitled little bitch and a quitter. If he didn't think he was going to have to compete for playing time at LSU he is an idiot also.
