Why should I be obligated to wish him well? Because he spent one semester at LSU then left? I don’t understand this pu$$ified mentality.

If a kid has been at a school for a couple years, no!
One year redshirt? Yes!

No, he's going somewhere where they accept QUITTERS!

I agree with you.
I get it that the rants are disappointed with an LSU players decision to transfer. Especially a highly touted, local guy who plays QB. However, trashing a teenager for a decision that he thinks will better himself is not warranted.

You don’t have to! You can continue being a whiney little bitch for as long as you want.

If you think players don’t read this board, you are naive.

The point of my post is that we are building a truly elite program, and losing highly touted players with unrealized potential will absolutely be a part of that.

He made a pledge to a school and accepted a free ride after the school spent lots of time and money recruiting him. He then QUITS on the school and leaves. He was man enough to accept the offer, he deserves to be trashed!

No matter what, it is wrong the way it is. NCAA has to get some rules and consequences for all this shite and start protecting the schools as well.

Nope. Not until they do the same with coaches. Coaches leave for better opportunities all the time. Make rules making them sit out a year too then.

The kid is making decisions based on the position LSU and Kelly put him in. Not the other way around.

False.

It’s his own fault he’s not good enough to be win the starting position. It’s 100% on him for failing LSU by not continuing to develop into the player he promised LSU he would develop into when they recruited and signed him.

My perspective on Howard is if he is going to another SEC school, acquiring a bag of money along the way, then he is Tiger bait and can frick right off.

You say it’s normal and need to get used to it, these kids need to get used to being professionals and being the target of fanatic criticism.

I am sure that when LSU recruited him and he signed Brian Kelly did not disclose that he would be signing an upper class man qb who would push him down the depth chart and create a 3-4 year window before he could start.

Jayden Daniels hadn’t entered the portal at the time of WH’s signing.

JD didn’t stop Howard from competing and working his way up the depth chart. Howard could’ve put in the work and paid his dues. Instead he chose to run. No respect and no sympathy

Why should I give two shits about some player for another team?

Are you also trashing the "quitters" who transferred into LSU from other schools?

This is stupid. It’s college football, it’s tribal in nature and not logical. It’s all about allegiance to your tribe, now that the kids are less loyal, expect the tribal instincts to get stronger with fanbases, not weaker.

Exactly! HE could have put in the work and EARNED it, but he chose to take the easy way out. Unfortunately, this is what the NCAA has allowed to happen with no consequence teaching kids absolutely nothing!

I hope he has no injuries, but screw having success anywhere else. That leads to more of this entitlement and "it's a business decision" mentality. What has happened to our youth that they have no self pride and honor their commitment? And don't give me the "this was my life long dream to attend LSU" speech, either. I get these kids have to do what's best for their future, but spare me the placating to preserve your image. Man up and take your lumps and if you're not with us, you're TIGER BAIT!

STFU fricking idiot. You have no clue what was said by anyone.

If a kid leaves after a couple of years at a school, no.
If a kid leaves after one year as a redshirt freshman, YES

Further to how fricking stupid you are:
quote:

an upper class man qb who would push him down the depth chart and create a 3-4 year window before he could start.

That has nothing to do with Daniels who will be gone in a year, that is a result of Nuss who was here when WH signed and who he knew he would have to compete against. He chose to redshirt and not compete and now he’s hauling arse to avoid competing.

So again, you’re fricking stupid.

Protect the schools from what? A system they asked for or protect them from the decades of making millions off kids who received an education which was generally funded by the federal and state governments? The schools are just getting their just desserts after decades of what can essentially be labeled slave labor based on the amount made vs amount spent.

If he were good enough to beat Daniels or Nuss he would've. Quit making bullshite excuses for a quitter. He came in to compete(allegedly) for a job not be handed one. If he expected to be handed one then good riddance. Kelly's job(and us as fans desire) is to win not coddle a kid who MAY be good enough to play here. Even if the staff blatantly lied to him, which I doubt, so what? It's boils down to Howard being good enough to play here and beat out the others competing. He chose instead to quit over competing. Just a thought, maybe Walker read the room and saw that he just doesn't match up. Blaming LSU for his personal inadequacies is bullshite.
