Poor guy. All he did was commit urine fraud.

Actually are they this will be a good reason for them to join the NFLPA. They generate almost as much money if not more and there's no legal ability to prevent it maybe college player should unionize now

I know this may be hard to understand but the NCAA can’t enforce criminal law.
It's insane that people do not understand this

Probably similar to what Ezekiel Elliot did. A temp injunction to delay the inevitable.

The outcome would have been different had he been a player at Bama IMHO. The can get caught with weed and guns and nothing...….

Yeah, no. He was punished in accordance with rules established by the organization which punished him. This isn’t an 8th amendment cruel and unusual criminal punishment case. It’s an organization enforcing its rules, asisnie as those rules may be. Fulton either tacitly or directly agreed to these rules.

Are there any NCAA rules involving criminal infractions?

Are there any other instances like this recently in NCAA?

He didn’t commit a crime.
This was a clear cut breaking of a rule and the stated punishment has been applied. Fulton is a voluntary participant in said rules and bylaws.

If he didn’t want to be subject to the NCAA’s rules he could have always just not played NCAA football.

He attempted to cheat a steroids test because he thought it was for weed. You're right there was no crime committed which is exactly why this is going to be a set up for not equally treating everybody the same. The institution in charge is completely responsible for being logical and rational regardless of what a rule States it's their job to interpret it based on circumstance.
The NCAA, to me, is becoming very inconsistent. Let's see their title 9 investigation, or lack the of.
