Has this rule ever been enforced prior to this time?

The guy administering the test didn’t follow proper protocol. Case shoulda been thrown out on that alone.

Well...the NCAA was going to let Fulton play, but then they heard about Tyler Taylor and said screw LSU and athletes that think they can get away stuff! Sucks for us but an ounce of prevention is always worth a pound of cure. JUST SAY NO, kids! Don't freaking do it!

Lol Alabama has beat LSU in recruiting and on the field for almost a decade now. Bama ain’t worried about LSU anymore. We may as well be Mississippi state to them.

LSU is only 1 or 2 players away from beating Bama and if LSU was the equivalent of MSU, Bama wouldn't schedule their bye prior to the LSU game every F-ing year.

Actually, they could very easily say they don’t want someone like Simmons on the field.

So you’re in favor of giving the NCAA more power?

More power? It's the same power. They can enforce eligibility within the NCAA.

Yeah he could have went straight to the NFL. Oh wait. No... He.... couldn’t.

That has nothing to do with the NCAA

The NCAA doesn’t give a frick about kids. This really is a joke. Fulton has paid a high price. To sho zero leniency is really absurd. It’s time for the NCAA to go away.

Meanwhile at the bamacave, players fail multiple drug tests and get suspended for practice and play in the season opener
I promise you they are not failing NCAA drug tests and doing this

A 6 game or season suspension is plenty to deter a player from making that mistake. No player would risk rhat length of time.

We had a guy risk two years. It’s like some of you don’t even know what you’re arguing.

Except he wasn’t being tested for weed which is the whole reason that this is LSU and O’s fault.

How the fck are you not educating your athletes on what substances they are going to be tested for and the dangers that come with attempting to tamper with the test.

Add LSU Compliance to that list to blame.

And LSU's compliance office is completely independent. Coaches can make requests, but to be cliche "they do want they want" *add finger snap*. That has an upside as it pertains to the NCAA; you don't get Petrino's hiring mistresses and cover up functions like at Ole Miss.

But being independent AND unresponsive is a whole other thing than being independednt AND responsive.

The moral of my story is that it is the Compliance's job to educate both the coaches and players. The coaches have a responsibility to the players, but that education is executed through the compliance department because they have judged that the coaches may "mis-educate" them, intentionally, to skirt rules and play in grey areas.

Yes, he panicked because he thought they were going to catch him with weed. Sad thing is, he went to other players- they didn't know either!

If compliance had done their job of education, then even if Fulton had slept through that presentation you would expect at least 1 of those players in the room could've have given him cliff notes before he filled that first cup. But no... they were all oblivious.
