I watched a video yesterday that refutes that argument. So you can take mine and your post with a grain of salt

Define vaunted, then go back and look up Clemson's defensive numbers from last year then come back and let's discuss a better word choice.

This is really no surprise. We lost several lineman to the NFL. Going to be a rebuilding year for oline.

Reading this board will be tortuous for three weeks.

I don’t know about anyone else, but this is how camp is supposed to look when you have a good defense. There’s been almost no resistance for the offense throughout camp the last two years and we’ve seen how the defense played out during the season. This is a welcomed site. As long as the offense comes along and has their share of wins as well in the next two weeks, we’ll be much improved on both sides of the ball.

Clemson struggled to stop the run in quite a few games last season:
NC St - 179
Stanford - 236
Louisville - 210
SMU - 154
USCe - 267
UGA - 169
Texas - 292

I don't expect us to run for a lot, but we should find some success. There will likely be some short passes that are essentially run plays.

I think LSU will have plenty explosive runs especially with Durham’s speed. It’s whether LSU can run when it need to like short yardage and red zone that I worry the most about. That is where LSU struggled the most last year. I’m
hoping that is better this year.

Sounds like our defense is top notch. I’d be concerned if we were breaking off many 50 yard runs.

In red zone they didn’t try any conventional runs out of normal formations.

I think they know what they have. McKinley and Gooden have been terrorizing the first team offense and having 3 safeties who are willing to tackle along with some good stars is making the difference.

The biggest thing you’ll notice this season is the safety play. LSU has lacked quality safety play since 2022

Even trying to be creative and use formations and schemes that the defense hadn’t seen up to this point, we still got stuffed. Different team, same problem. At least the defense should be able to keep us close in big games this year.

Why don’t you stop watching then? You remind me of nicholastiger giving up on the 2023 baseball team early in the season. Why don’t we wait for the games first to see what happens? It may be true but practice just started.

You can have the best QB, RB, and WR in the world, but if the OL is a turnstile it won't matter. Campbell and Jones masked a lot of deficiencies the last 3 years.

It will be extremely difficult for me to not blame Sloan if they cannot run the ball this year. Much like the short passing game, there are relatively basic schematic ways to open up run lanes depending on defensive positioning.

This offensive scheme is poorly designed to run the ball with RBs. This offensive scheme needs an effective running QB. Nuss can run but either won't or is being told not to run as to avoid injury so it hampers this offense's running game.

The offense will still be effective and produce good numbers but when it's time to grind it out and burn some clock it's going to be really difficult.

Nuss should be under a more pro-style offense with play action. That type of offense is better for the OL run blocking schemes and produces a more effective running game.

In the football world, if the defense isn’t winning the majority of reps against the offense during fall camp you may be in for a long season.

BK needs to be open to changing his playbook. Sloan is just running what is approved.

If BK is dead set on running everything from Shotgun, they need to run at least 50% from the pistol.

If we don’t make the Playoff Sloan should and will be fired.

And by every report they have been a turnstile. Campbell was thought to be average by LSU fans and now he’s dominating in NE. They are really going to melt this year.

Linemen who were terrible at run blocking last year. It’s a scheme issue seemingly.
