I'd be interested to see Money go this Sunday. If for nothing else, just to see how a Sunday game would look with someone who can throw strikes.

I do think Hurd eventually ends up the Sunday guy and I'm rooting like hell for him. It's nothing against him.

I guess at this point though, they're pretty much interchangeable.

Aka if I don’t need Guidry to win game one or two he will start on Sunday.

That’s my thoughts as well. Guidry penciled in for Sunday, unless he needs him in a high leverage situation Saturday to clinch the series

It seemed like Little was really trending up until Auburn.

Not really. He was just luckily able to get out of a couple self imposed jams. He was still walking a shite ton of batters. It was just a matter of time before he wasn’t able to get out of it

TBD = by committee???
TBB = sad that there is no definite 3rd starter at this time near the end of the season; should have been established by this point in the season

There are like like 5 teams in college baseball that have a reliable 3rd starter.

And for the 657th time, LSU had 3-4 different starting options in Taylor, Noot and Edwards/Shores. Stop posting dumb shite and enjoy the season.

I would like to see Guidry or Coleman start. Leave Hurd in the role he is currently doing well in out of the bullpen.

Listened to Joe Healy and Mark Ethridge in their Highway to Hoover podcast.

Pretty much said that most teams in America would switch places with our pitching situation because we’re one of the only teams with a bona fide and dominant #1.

Can we just take a moment and realize/appreciate the contribution that Gavin Guidry has provided to this staff?

With that being said, I really like him in those high leverage or 9th inning save role. He’s got that dog in him and feeds off of the pressure.

If that opportunity doesn’t presents itself in games 1 or 2, I’m ok with him starting then bringing in Hurd and potentially have a complete game with just those two like you have in Skenes/Herring in game 1.

I’d prefer Hurd assume that Sunday starter role again. If we’re going to go all the way we will need Guidry in high leverage situations at some point and that somewhat ruins the starter role for him.

Give Money a confidence building start in the midweek to get him ready for the 1/4 game. Hurd needs to move back into a starting role too. Hopefully we see Hurd on Sunday. Good thing about playing Mississippi State this weekend is if LSU plays like they should you won't need Hurd to close out close games on Friday or Saturday and can save him for Sunday.

Money got his confidence this week imo. Don’t need him starting. Hurd would be the 1/4 game since he’s not on any timeline to get Sunday.

If some fans go their way with “never seeing a pitcher again”

We’d have Skenes and Guidry available maybe Herring.

Guidry is such a good baseball player all around. Watching him pitch you almost forget he’s an outstanding shortstop prospect as well

Best case scenario is obviously for Thatcher Hurd to continue on the path he’s been the last few outings. If he can put it together you’ve got 2 legit number 1 caliber aces in your rotation

Hurd would be better used either out of the bullpen or starting an if necessary game on Monday in a regional. No reason to waste Hurd in the 1/4 game when he's more valuable closing out close games or starting against a better team on Monday.

Hurd is more versatile than Money. You're not going to use Money in that role deeper into a regional.

I think he can be more valuable but I want him going 3-4 innings in that 1/4 game and pulled when we get our 8-0 lead. He would then be available again Monday. Money can still eat up innings on the back end of that game.

If Hurd can give us a quality starter he’s more valuable.

I think closer is a luxury on a team with 1 pitcher who can go past 5 inning regularly .
