He's going to pitch tomorrow but not like most in here think. it will be his bullpen day at best so he'll get a few innings.

The three years that followed, he averaged 172 IP. He actually pitched fewer innings the year he did that.

What exactly is the point you think you’re making? That those postseasons directly caused Kershaw’s innings to decrease and Verlander to have TJ surgery a year later?

I have no emotion in this at all. Pitching injuries are like cancer. No preventative is 100% and you can do everything right and still get it. It’s a silent injury in which the cause is extremely difficult to pinpoint.

Most professional pitchers are big, strong men who do everything right, and the majority of them will have some type of serious arm injury. But hey it is as simple as “keep pitching if you feel good” huh

Hoenstly, yes. Every preventative measure they have tried so far has not had any positive impact. They have tried every scientific approach etc etc and nothing has made a dent. The simple truth is they don’t know why guys like Nolan Ryan exist and why others can’t stay healthy

Dude, Skenes threw 46 fastballs over 100 mph in the Tennessee game and threw many many more fastballs than that over 98 mph.

Against Wake Forest on short rest Skenes touched 100 mph only about a dozen times.

Did y’all hear what K Peterson said towards the end of today’s game (or right after it)?? He sort of said it under his breath. I remember Ben saying the same kind of thing about 2 months ago talking about his draft experience. Paraphrasing, KP said, I’m willing to bet there will be other forces at play tomorrow when Johnson has to decide if/when Skenes pitches and for how long.

Bottom line, how much will Skenes and Johnson allow Skenes’ agent/drafting team managers have influence? It’s a good question. Wish I could remember which game Ben was announcing where he talked about the June/July before he was drafted. Said the Orioles were dragging their feet and he had to decide whether he was staying at LSU and playing summer ball or shutting it down. He and his “people” basically told them, Ben’s doing whatever he wants with summer ball until you come up with a respectable offer. They did and he shut it down. I know it’s not exactly the same but I totally agree with KP. There’s likely other forces at play here.
