You are contradicting yourself saying Saban is old as frick. You wouldn’t sign him up for 5 more years?

Didn't he fail to register or tried to hide it from OSU?

Pat Casey is not accused of any thing
There are posters here tearing down the victim/family and allegations against the OSU pitcher as a weird way of defending Casey.
I’m sorry, but sinking to those depths is something our fanbase should never do. That’s a hard line that shouldn’t be crossed.

Yeah well that is idiotic that you wouldn’t take Saban for 5 years. No AD in the country would turn that down

The age concerns me, but more concerning would be no ties to baseball in the south and SEC is probably more concerning.
Obviously, a good/great head coach can win anywhere, but don’t you want some ties/connections to the region?
There’s been too much smoke that appears intentional/strategic to me - I think the hire is Godwin or McDonnell.

I’d take Casey before Vitello.
Sign him to a 7-8 yr deal with no long term guarantees for recruiting purposes and pair him with an assistant from the region.

The articles tearing down the victim/family were posted here after that all came out for those who chose to read it. It is a very interesting case. Im not defending casey or the kid, just saying its definitely not a cut and dry case.

I’d be pretty pumped for Casey. I think he’d be a home run. 62 for a baseball coach isn’t really all that old.

You flat out said no to Saban for 5 years. I asked you a direct question.

This can be a reason to hire if you are Kansas. It is a horrible reason to hire at LSU. The "next guy" shouldn't be thought of as the goal should be to have the coach you're about to hire be here for a significant amount of time.

It’s old for a guy that’s already bowed out once due to fatigue. This job is much more of a pressure cooker than Oregon St

I hope y’all don’t hire Casey for obvious reasons but if y’all do congrats. Would make an excellent hire.

OSU learned about this when the kid failed to re-register or whatever he forgot to do.
Yes this is correct...and the failure to register thing was a mistake by the authorities even. It happened just weeks before he was going to petition and win to have his juvenile record completely sealed meaning no one would have been able to access it without court order. This was a part of his plea deal.

Would Casey have really had the final say anyway? Let's not act like the baseball coach is running the school and athletic department.

I’m sure Woodward as well as several of his staff members potentially developed a relationship with Casey at UW while he was at Oregon State.
So I definetly see a potential connection.

I don’t know if he’ll be the hire, but it’s silly IMO if people’s reason against Casey are the circumstances of that player’s situation.
