The MLB wouldn’t touch Heimlich despite his talent, that should tell us something
MLB moved the All Star game out of Georgia and to Colorado even thought the new voting law in Georgia was less intrusive than the law state of Colorado already had on their books.
I don’t take the MLB as the infinite ruler of all things.

Casey is such a strange hire, that it makes me feel as if it’s a smoke screen for someone else.

It really doesn’t matter what anyone believes he did. He is guilty, through his own admission, in the eyes of the courts. Letting that guy around the program is inexcusable. This isn’t a case of hearsay. He is guilty. He admitted to it.
OJ is innocent. A court of law said so.

I don’t need anything more than a guilty plea.
Please tell me you aren’t naive enough to think that people don’t sometimes plead guilty to a lesser charge because the punishment agreed upon will be worth it to not risk going to trial for a more serious charge.
The kid pled guilty in a deal that was supposed to keep everything sealed up because he himself was a minor. Something got messed up later on and it became public. It’s possible he took the plea to avoid having to go to trial and face stronger punishment if he lost.

I'm becoming more open to the hire after all these woke warriors have chimed in.

Would Casey be molding the "next guy" who's already on LSU's staff... nolan cain?
Bump

I know Casey isn’t atop tRants hard on list but this would be an damn solid hire. it’s not a long term dynasty type hire but this dude would have us back rolling I believe. Guy can flat out coach and would manage the roster light years better than Paul.

This doesn’t say what you think it does.
OJ is nuclear due to allegations.
We have an actual admission of guilt that heimlich stuck his fingers in the vagina of his 6 year old niece.
Pat Casey played him when not one single MLB team would take the risk. Everyone else said that guy isn’t playing for me. Pat Casey is the only person who said it was ok. And in 2018 this whole board agreed he was a sleazy little shite with no morals. But now when we might hire y’all want to flip sides? Jesus Christ get some damn dignity

Hiring a coach who allowed a guy who repeatedly sexually abused his niece when she was between the ages of 4 and 6 years old is fricking problematic.
And he was 13 and 15. Not saying that makes it ok, but it just seems a little extreme to basically cast him from society for the rest of his life.

You got a post of me saying this?

Idk about you but when I was 13-15 I was busy playing ball, riding bikes and jumping out of trees. I guess I missed out on the raping 6 year olds part of my childhood.
I’m not saying cast him out of society. I’m saying that giving registered sex offenders scholarships is a bad fricking idea and I question the kind of man who would want that person on their team.

Nope. Not even going to try to look for one.
That statement wasn’t about you in particular it was more in reference to the general opinion of the board.

Casey didn’t know about the kids plea deal when he was recruited. The records were sealed.

I understand the PR issue with hiring Casey bc of the Heimlich kid. However, everyone should read both sides of the story before damning the kid for eternity. I can’t say with 100% certainty that the kid is innocent, but I believe he got railroaded. For anyone who’s truly interested in seeing how the media manipulated this situation in what should be an illegal means, just go to website linked. Click on the drop box at the top to see links to the media obsession and exposure, the parent’s stance, the unbelievable prosecution rates for juveniles in the county in which the case was heard, and much more. Again, I can’t say he’s innocent for sure, but there is much more to this case then what most of you have ever heard about.

The kid had already been playing and going to school at Oregon State for what 2-3 years when they found out about this. They already had an established relationship and from what I remember he had no issues while in school there. What sense does it make to now, because of something that has already been adjudicated, you did your "time" and the case has been closed, kick him off the team?

I don’t, either. But for them to pass on a phenom pitcher is $ignificant IMO.

If I hire a guy who is a model employee but 3-4 years later I find out that he repeatedly molested his 4-6 year old niece a few years ago Im going to fricking fire him. Not knowing isn’t an excuse when they rode him all the way to a national championship after they did know.
