Do you want the Tiger tradition to continue? After this Mike dies, LSU needs to source a new Tiger. These Tigers are usually donated from other non-profit wildlife sanctuaries. As non-profits, those sanctuaries rely on funding from conservation groups and other outside activists.
You think they're going to donate a cat to a place who parades the animal around a loud stadium as a prop? They'll be pressured from outside groups like Peta who hold those dollars over them.
As it is, LSU is a certified Tiger sanctuary with care for Mike that would rival any sanctuary in the country and they can push back on the idea that Mike would be given inadequate care or conditions.

I’m glad that I have gotten to see Mike paraded around the stadium and parked on the visitor’s side, but I understand why they don’t do it anymore.
It’s certainly not in the best interest of the tiger.

You Big Dummy.... after being frightened by the explosions and fire right next to his trailer, Mike stopped cooperating and would not get IN the trailer anymore- and if a 400lb tiger doesn't want to get in a little trailer backed up to his enclosure, then it does not happen. MIKE decided not to go to games anymore; not PETA, not the vet school, not admin, not "wokeness"....
