LSU usually travels well, so there might be fewer seats sold back. LSU baseball fans are usually pretty decent fans. They love their baseball.

It is a huge gamble, and flies in the face of conventional wisdom of win and stay in WB. However, LSU is a tamer animal this year with starters capable of dominating , but inconsistent...and their pen is apparently thin and ineffective. Our patience and the fact that we have no soft spots 1-9 will allow us to ramp up the count and get to the pen in 6th or so. Would love to see LH and BF set up 2-3 to close this out. LSU is always going to be a good team, but youth and key injuries make this a less formidable match up. We are better .

whiskey and tabacky Lol.. absolutely no yellow allowed in banners. Going to need a few extra security staff..

Glad to get them here, I am quite sure Goss will be absolutely crazy. Perhaps the single most anticipated game of the season.

quote:

I am complaining. Of the #2 seeds, I would rank LSU as about the fourth team that I did not want to see. The Tigers are a great well-coached, fundamentally sound team with a ton of experience that travels well, built to give teams like the Beavers problems

quote:

Oregon State is 1-4 all-time against LSU. LSU went 2-0 against Oregon State in the Baton Rouge Regional in 2012 and 2-1 against Oregon State in the College World Series last year.

quote:

I'd rather face them in baseball here in Corvallis than football in Baton Rouge! Get the W and the skin of a Tiger will look good on our wall of memories

quote:

Enough with this baw crap. Should we refer to you as hick, rube, hayseed, chum bait, nutria ranchers? I assume baw is a colloquial version of boy which I had never heard until I was in the service. There it was a put down aimed at people of color by southern rednecks. And yes, I was stationed in the south and overseas and heard it from your ilk everywhere. It demeans you, not anyone else by lowering yourself to this kind of discourse. Civility and respect is a virtue that may be elusive to "y'all" but you can attain it if you want.

That last one seems like a salty SJW. Other than that they seem to have a good opinion of LSU in general.

Make no mistake, they are the better team but it seems the fans at least understand that LSU is a tough draw any year.

They know what's up. Corvallis is about to be Baton Rouge Northwest.

That said, this is probably the worst possible regional we could have ended up in, but nothing we can do about it. Hope our boys take care of business!

ETA: I was being uncivil. Whoops.

Many of them are making the mistake of gauging LSU by looking at the overall season. LSU is not the same team they were earlier in the season.

We respect you guys and also have been sitting on a mountain of salt ever since our kicker missed 3 extra point attempts against you back in 2004.

LSU played better in the tournament but it’s not like they were kicking arse and taking names to close out the SEC.

He probably suffered from heat related issues before it rained like the rest of us did. They're all hot at that time of year, but that one in particular stands out in my mind as sweltering before all the rain finally dropped on us. I don't know if I've ever been so happy for a rain delay since.

Maybe the Auburn Tigers?

The LSU Tigers haven’t been fundamentally sound in years. No plate discipline, no working of counts, the catching, fielding and knowledge of the game is absent.

Paul has a way to win but fundamentally sound ain’t it.

I complain about Paul’s clear neagtive aspects of coaching, but fielding isn’t one. We’ve always had very good fielding teams

I didn’t mean actually fielding. It’s the alignments, it’s knowing where to be and where to throw. It’s about more than just errors and put outs.

Paul nailed this all week in Hoover and literally saved a game with Broussard aligned up the middle.

He had a good week, it happens. “Smart baseball” is not a forte of Maineri-coached teams, never has been. But that’s ok. His teams generally find ways to win, especially once the post season starts, and that’s fine with me.

That guy think “ Baw” means black ( racist ) and is convinced it is 1967 in Louisiana, lol. The irony of course being that there are 600 black people in the entire white enclave city of Corvallis while Baton Rouge is majority black. Ahhhh the casual racism of the provincial white Progressive. It never gets old.

According to google maps nearest one is 28 miles away in Salem. Can an electric car go that far?
