Ok so if you don’t want to go by Class ranking,

LSU has outperformed A&M and Texad for years prior to O, Herman and Jimbo taking over.

So we’ve out recruited and out played then.

I think It’s safe to say O took over a better all around program than either.

Why ever fire a coach then if they are never to blame

If you want to see me turn on a regime with the quickness let them shite the bed in year three. I'm giving the man the same courtesy that I'd give any other coach in his position. Unfortunately most of you can't do that. He's got till year three and if I don't see quite a bit of improvement then I'll become very critical of the team. I believe that this was much more of a rebuild than people want to admit. From culture change to whiffs on talent.

That being said I'm confident that the team will continue to improve.

I quote Dave Aranda. We have more kickers on scholarship than Linebackers.

That says a lot about the state the program was in.

Miles didn't have a clue how to manage a roster.

Ok. Im going to give this a try.

None of that nonsense is true.

the same national media that was actively trolling LSU fans with pictures of Miles saying "miss me yet?" in October 2017?

yeah, ok.

Herman and fisher argument is insane.

You can’t judge what they do at actual rebuilds as to what they’d do here..

How would O do as HC of that Texas team that hasn’t been to a bowl game in three years????

We’ve seen O try to take over a rebuild before. I don’t mean to discredit any success here, but LSU was essentially a 10 win program literally the year before he took over. (Cancelled home game)

Those guys would be doing every bit as well as O and probably have a higher ranked recruiting class.

when Herman beats LSU first game next year. LSU would have lost their last two regular seasons games to the coaches that should have been here(with lesser talent). but people will say O is still the right choice.

If Texas beats LSU to start off next season... oh boy. This place will be fun.

I totally agree he should get a third year but I’m not buying into the rebuild theory. O didn’t think it was a rebuild whatsoever when he got the job, in fact he stated the exact opposite.

Yup. I’m sick of this ignorance from some people. I have always stated no matter how they do at those programs, it would not reflect how well they’d do here. So even if they had flat out bombed.. it still doesn’t mean they’d have bombed here. They were both perfect matches for exactly what LSU needs, but we will continue to do it the hard way. Why make it any easier?

I don’t see any difference in LSU from before miles was fired and I don’t see any difference next season.

Last year had premature talk of 10 wins
This year had premature tall of 10 wins

I supppse with a bowl win we’d get 10 wins. I just feel LSU should be a 1 loss program right now and we are wasting away our opportunity of a very down SEC.. that should be improving soon with the additions of Jimbo to A&M and Mullen to UF.. at least making it more difficult for us since we play them both yearly.

I fully expect 3 losses next season. Even with a slightly more favorable schedule. Herman and UT is no gimmie (fwiw I had us easily beating Miami) and we will still probably drop one of the following, miss st, Auburn, Florida
So with Alabama, I expect three losses and not a ton of improvement.

This has always been my concern over O. Good enough to just get by. Win a game we shouldn’t, but drop a game or two we shouldn’t. It’s what he even as interim at usc and LSU. Keep in mind he took over extremely talented teams in both situations who already dropped games.

Fair enough. Let's assume this to be true. Why didn't we totally clean house and start from scratch then? If a true rebuild and culture change was needed, why do we have Les' DL coach, TE coach and DC leading this change?

I don't need to. He beat him.

quote:

LSU 15 TAMU 17, 2 spots difference.

That's last year's rankings, 3 months after Fisher was hired. Orgeron's first full class was 15th, 8 spots lower than the year before. Fisher's first class is currently ranked 2nd, 15 spots higher than the year before.

Another lie. If you're going to use the quote, at least use the right one. He was talking about middle linebackers, not all linebackers.

I am not making a sweeping assertion, nor trying to redirect. I get as excited as the next guy on N.S.D. with the projected rankings. However, my only assertion here is that we do not know the TRUE measure of a recruiting class until we have seen them play.

And, yes, I agree totally with you. Orgeron is not and has not been at the disadvantage, talent-wise, as some of these other schools. Despite all his excuses for not having talent at this position or that, he and Coach Miles are famous for being recruiters and he was recruiting coordinator for two recruiting seasons before Coach Miles departure.

Each of those classes were fairly well-regarded, and many agree that LSU simply needed adjustment on the offensive side of the ball as there was and is talent here, already.

This is where I'm at. O is the man for this job, and Aranda is as well... O has to hire a great OC and let that man do his thing thoigh.

If O is the man for the job why has he wiffed on the OC hire —- the most important part of his job —- twice in 2 years.
