Yes imo. Broken the world record twice in 2 weeks at 20 years old.

Yes, however, you will likely have some people chime in on old players despite them playing in a significantly easier game (Cannon, Casanova, Maravich, etc).

may depend on what you mean by athlete. I always think of a best athlete as someone who can excel at multiple sports

ath·lete
/'aTH?let/

noun
a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise.

By definition...its hard to say because we dont really know his ability with other forms of physical exercise.

Im going to say no because i think there are better athletes that have been through LSU that could have starred in other sports, not just their main focused sport

well if you want to talk about greatness and records being broke,

I just visited the CFB hall of fame in Atlanta, Joe Burrow has a really nice section dedicated to him...very close to the entrance.

he's not in the hall of fame, but is in the hall of fame...

that's why they call him BDJ

No. Pole vault is not a sport that draws the quality of athlete that the 100 meter dash draws. Mondo is not in the top 10 of LSU athletes. Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, Derek Stingley, Leonard Fournette, OBJ, are all better athletes.

What can be said about Mondo is that he is the best LSU athlete all-time relative to his peers in his sport and event.

If you're talking about pure athleticism, no. He's not even top 10.

If you're talking about athletic achievement, sure.

For the record, Mondo is a whole 0.10 seconds faster in the 100m than Leonard Fournette. Mondo ran 10.57 on a whim at regionals in high school.

whats more impressive is that fournette weighs like 230 lbs and mondo weighs around 175..

for the record

So? Are we looking for the better athlete or not? Mondo has a faster PR in the 100m by a long shot, jumped 23-5 in long jump, and the 2 highest jumps ever in pole vault. He's objectively a better athlete than Fournette.

ETA: and Penrod was the one to bring up "talent" in the 100m, which Mondo is more talented in
