Ah Rohan...it maybe because i was young back then but it really felt like he was the first QB id ever saw that threw legit on a rope dots to WRs.

Rohan was awesome. Also having Josh Reed and the receivers was a great time.

Bold of you to assume MVB automatically marches down the field if the offense is struggling with Nuss.

Even if that were to happen, we’d probably see a 2 QB system rest of the season. Bring on the downvotes
No downvote from me. Even if Nuss was healthy I still think he'd be having problems behind an OL that gives up sacks and pressures to a three-man defensive front.

JD might be able to make something happen with his legs behind our **teepee OL, but he's long gone to the NFL. Unless our OL has been mainlining roids for two solid weeks while getting drilled to death by Coach Pete 24x7 I don't have much hope that they're going to miraculously get better.

I could be wrong, though, and would love to have to admit that I gave up on our OL too soon.

BK doesn't have to make a wholesale swap out. Just start by using MVB in strategic moments. Heck, have 'em both on the field at the same time.

I get the gist, but hopefully you're joking about this one.

Who would you take off the field to have MVB and Nuss on at the same time? One less WR to throw to? Maybe the RB (assuming MVB can block and pick up a blitz or two - and would you really want that?).

The problem is conservative playcalling behind a very porous OL that can't keep a three-man rush at bay with 5 (or six) blockers. Putting MVB in would only make that much worse.

Brian couldn’t handle handing the reigns over to MVB. He’s going to force the 3nouts with the run game.

Im saying that not even BK is going to allow Nuss to play like he did @ Ole Miss again.

Either Nuss comes out and plays like a 5th year senior or hes probably done

hate to say it but i think Kelly plays Nuss until Nuss is injured. hopefully a minor injury but still. Kelly is just bad at coaching.

How do you know Nuss won’t benefit from some rest and recuperation? It may benefit him and Van Buren both. It may also benefit the team to have a healthy Nuss and a better prepared Van Buren for next year. Not everything has to be viewed as a negative.

Not joking but no need to think conventionally about this either. Is there a formation or a play that would create a mismatch that the D couldn't adjust to quickly enough or force them to burn a TO?

Unless he starts to play bad. Then the rant will be pulling their hair out for Nuss again. You guys forgot how these things always happen. One loss and EVERYONE will be begging for Nuss.

Nah. That ship has sailed. Most of us have moved on from him. He’s a main reason why this season isn’t on good footing. OL not withstanding

I disagree. You may not, but you know the rant loses it after a loss. They will come out in droves. You know this to be true.

The impending MVB let down might be the greatest in the history of LSU sports. Except for 1/9/12.

I'd love this if it were to happen. Not sure he'd do it though. BK seems to hard headed like Les and doesn't seem open to change even when things are not working.

We get it. You think Nuss should be the starter no matter how atrocious he is.
You’ve been defending his horrific play like your life depends on it every week. But that’s fine I guess LSU can lose 3 or 4 more games with his elite dumb decision making skills.

try and run the ball

I thought that would have been the strategy in Oxford, as Ole Miss was, before the LSU game, known for its shoddy run defense.

So MVB is the more mobile, less accurate QB (Booty) and Nuss is the less mobile, more accurate passer (Rohan).

This checks out. Nuss is the more accurate passer and that will be needed down the stretch.

Maybe. Maybe not. MVB had 7 INT in 256 pass attempts last year (2.7%). Nuss had 12 INT in 525 attempts. (2.2%). Nuss currently has 3 INT in 171 attempts this year (1.7%)
You, JimTiger and a few others are so transparent it's ridiculous. You are biased as hell towards Nuss. We all so multiple chances in each game this year of Nuss inexplicably throwing into double and triple coverage that the defender didn't come down with the ball. He has been lucky. I did this to you a couple daya ago, but you're comparing a true freshman on an extremely limited team trying to win games his team is getting blown out in to a 4th year junior who played in parts of 3 previous years, who's sitting behind a top 3 pass blocking unit in the country, with NFL pass catchers, and a defense that wasn't just straight arse.

I remember Nuss vs Arkansas as a true freshman. I remember when he got into games as a redshirt freshman. Two ridiculous ints vs Southern, and in every game where he got at least 10 passes, he turned the ball over. Nuss had 4 ints (I won't even mention the fumbles), in 84 pass attempts as a redshirt freshman. MVB had 7 ints in 256 attempts as a true freshman. MVB played 6 top 35 defenses in 9 games, 5 top 25 defense in 9 games, and 3 top 10 defenses in 9 games.

I'd like to see MVB on the better team with the starters.
