How do you know Nuss won’t benefit from some rest and recuperation? It may benefit him and Van Buren both. It may also benefit the team to have a healthy Nuss and a better prepared Van Buren for next year. Not everything has to be viewed as a negative.
Because if that were truly the case, he wouldn't have played vs SLU. We played him vs an FCS team we could have beat with our eyes closed.

I don't believe for a single second that not throwing for a week will make him feel that much better.

Unless he starts to play bad. Then the rant will be pulling their hair out for Nuss again. You guys forgot how these things always happen. One loss and EVERYONE will be begging for Nuss.
Nuss is averaging 216 yards and 1 TD to 1 int vs power 5 teams. Please kindly shut the frick up. He's not doing any damn thing that warrants him back in.

The impending MVB let down might be the greatest in the history of LSU sports. Except for 1/9/12.
You hope he will be a letdown. What a sad LSU fanbase we have.

Rohan was awesome. Also having Josh Reed and the receivers was a great time.

Dominick Davis, Robert Royal, Jerel Myers.

You are biased as hell towards Nuss.

You mean like when I responded to a post from you a couple of days ago and said that I don’t think Nuss has played well?
quote:

We all so multiple chances in each game this year of Nuss inexplicably throwing into double and triple coverage that the defender didn't come down with the ball. He has been lucky.

Breaking: Nuss makes questionable decisions with the ball. We fricking know.

I did this to you a couple daya ago, but you're comparing a true freshman on an extremely limited team trying to win games his team is getting blown out in to a 4th year junior who played in parts of 3 previous years

Look, there’s a chance that MVB might be fricking awesome. If he is, I hope they bench Nuss and roll with MVB. I’m just not sold on that being the case. But then again we are still trotting Weston Davis out there so maybe they aren’t evaluating guys in practice correctly.

I'd like to see MVB on the better team with the starters.

I’m totally fine with you having this opinion, which is why I don’t why you’re upset with me. IF Nuss is healthy, I’d rather have him out there. IF he comes out against SC and looks the same then I’m all for benching him. I maintain the thought that they should have sat Nuss against SELA. I’m still pissed about that. This week against SC will be the healthiest he is for the rest of the season. If he doesn’t look good, then get him out of the game.

But we have to stop with the RPO formations and plays. We don’t have one of the options.

Run
Pass
Option

Nuss can give it or pass it. Both options are there. Most of Daniels' runs were either designed runs for him. Zone reads. Or him simply taking off on a called pass play.

This offense can have RPOs. But I don't think it should be the major emphasis. There doesn't have to be a massive change. (1) Change the way you are trying to run the ball. Run more power or counters. Get some pulling lineman on occasion. The run game doesn't have to be the major emphasis of LSU's offense. But simply running the zone blocking scheme that the OL and RBs can't execute is a path to nowhere. (2) Attack the middle of the field in the passing game. That is where Nussmeier is at his best. It's where a lot of his WRs thrive. And we aren't talking about 35 yards down the middle of the field. Hit some intermediate routes. The constant passes to the boundaries at the LOS aren't getting LSU much.

The season is not over. Nor are LSU's CFP hopes. But the margin for error has now been reduced to 1 more loss...with 6 SEC games to play. LSU is averaging 16ppg vs. P4 competition. The defense has been really good. But you can't expect them to hold SEC opponents under 20 points every game. NOW is the time to make some adjustments. If that is not with scheme, then with personnel. Doing nothing is going to lead to a second wasted championship-run opportunity in 3 years. If that happens, then the next few years of the BK era will just be biding time until the cost to fire him becomes somewhat palatable.

You may not, but you know the rant loses it after a loss. They will come out in droves. You know this to be true.

Most of us play pretend head coach - and I understand that b/c i do the same - however, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see this team is seriously flawed.

With no mid-game adjustments being made, it's just crippling us further and we are just disappointed. Still love my tigers however

I think they should have a 2 QB system from here on out. Nuss doesn't have the long throw and run game. Let's give those to MVB or even Hurley and see how it plays out. Our D will keep us in this one. We need the long throw badly because Hilton and Watkins never get a throw. We've only seen Palmer a couple of times. These guys are great receivers and they sit idle because Nuss can't spin it past 15 yards without an int.

Start MVB and let him show what he can do. If he plays well, then the story is that Nuss is just not 100%, which I believe to still be true.
If MVB stalls out after 2-3 series, put Nuss in and still claim that even at less than 100%, he is still our best most experienced QB.
That way, BK and Nuss are both off the hook, and both are just doing their best with the situation.
If BK does anything otherwise, and Nuss starts and doesn't play well, then BK will continue to be heavily criticized, as he should be.
The oline has to play considerably better than anything we have seen from them regardless of who plays qb, for LSU to win this or any other game this year.
